Charles Pendelton Mitchell III; phony POW

A few years ago, the old POW Network took down their archives. Among their criminals was Charles Pendelton Mitchell III, who was a senior Non Commissioned Officer in the Air Force before he retired to Nashville, North Carolina. He came to the attention of the folks at POW Network because he claimed that he was a POW in the Vietnam conflict and that he had earned the Medal of Honor for his service. He also claimed that he was a Brigadier General and a pilot and that he’d been recalled to duty for the campaign in Afghanistan;

Apparently, he was out telling his stories again on New Years Eve, because someone reported him again.

ALL THAT which is plenty to be proud of and HE JUST HAD TO shit all over himself, his name, his family and his reputation by doing that. ENJOY your newfound internet fame, o gaggle-headed GOOSE dropping!

    You’re a DINGLEBERRY.

Makes no sense does it!? Wow.

  2. Silentium Est Aureum

Prima faciae evidence of why post on posers will never, ever come down.

  3. Combat Historian

A unit historian who steals valor and claims phony glory…utterly shameful and a disgrace to those military historians who served out in the boonies to get the real history straight…

Out of all the ass-whipes we read about here and elsewhere….this one makes the least amount of sense.

Just the first paragraph above tells me, IMHO, that this guy had some kind of breakdown…it seems to me that there’s more that we haven’t heard yet.

    Maybe I’m naive?

I often think the same thing. Maybe the fluoride in the water?

Nah – it’s the New Math… does it to the all of the time.

    Cocksucker.

  6. I’m in a bitchy mood this morning. How about getting his meritorious medal revoked?

For completeness, here is a link to the list of USAF personnel who were ever taken POW or were otherwise placed in MIA status in Southeast Asia who were later formally accounted for. A living POW who was serving in SEA in the USAF when taken prisoner would be on this list.

    http://www.dpaa.mil/portals/85/Documents/VietnamAccounting/pmsea_acc_p_usaf.pdf

There is one individual with the last name “Mitchell” or “Mitchel” on that list. That individual is Capt. Thomas B. Mitchell of Littleton, CO. Capt. Mitchell was lost in South Vietnam on 22 May 1968. His remains were recovered in 2002; he was identified and accounted for in 2009.

Charles Pendleton Mitchell III appears to be nothing more than a despicable LSoS.

I have come to believe that the posers come in two basic flavors.

The criminal “masterminds” trying to game the system, and those who have some degree of mental or emotional illness left unchecked for too long.

Of the two, the former are the most dangerous, and the latter may actually be salvageable in some way.

While they are all miserable cretins, I can understand how some of them end up this way…I don’t have to like or approve, but I can understand it.

This f’ing dude… He has plenty of SAC time (pun def intended) between Warner-Robbins and Minot, both first priority in a nuclear exchange. Must of been stressful given that time frame…
But as a Senior Non-Commissioned Officer he should DEFINITELY know better than to lie.
You got caught, twice now, time to just stop.

Why? Just why? An MSM as an E7–that’s nothing to sneeze at!

I will never forget that night in Macho Grande. It is what caused me to catch that dreaded PTS disease.
Secret intel from a Russian hack of the CIA and the DNC shows there is a super secret POW camp located there.

What a total D-bag nonner. He disrespects himself and dishonors the rest of us AF SNCO’s both active and like myself a retired MSgt aircraft maintainer.
He tries to compare himself to some real heroes like A1/C William Robinson who was shot down om Sept 20, 1965 while serving as an HH-43 Huskie crew member was POW for over seven years in Vietnam.
Robinson retired from active duty in 1984 as a Capt. for medical reasons but he left with an impressive record of military service that included 23-years in service, with 7 of those being in captivity. He received a battlefield commission as a 2nd Lieutenant for his valorous and honorable behavior during captivity that was frequently brutal and inhumane. He was one of the first enlisted members to receive the Air Force Cross in addition to being awarded the Silver Star, Legion of Merit, Bronze Star, POW Medal and two Purple Hearts
In addition to Robison two other Airmen Art Cormier and Neil Black both PJ were also given battlefield commissions while they were POW’s in the Hanoi Hilton.
There were a few other enlisted USAF POW’s, from what I have gathered they were either rescue helicopter crew of B-52 gunners that were shot down during Linebacker II

Took a Bernath-style shit all over his service… and it sounds like he’s been doing it for a long time.

Anyone know what the rest of the entry on the far right of the POW Network pic reads… something about the assclown being fired?

  13. jonp

No matter how many of these I read I’ll never understand it.

  14. Bobo

I can only guess that the cheese slipped off his cracker a few years ago and that he has some form of dimentia. He has to be in his 70’s at this point.

    1. Deplorable B Woodman

      Wadda ya mean, “slipped off”?
More like, “jumped off and ran away.”

  15. Green Thumb

    He just made history.

By becoming part of the turd list.

  16. Ya I remember nacho grande like it was yesterday. But did y’all see that he had a purple heart?

    1. Claw

Yeah, we saw the Purple Heart. It could have come from a variety of things like a paper cut, a staple puncture, incoming rockets or mortars, stubbing your toe on a mess hall table when trying to be the first in line at the soft serve ice cream machine, getting your pecker pulled really hard by a hooch maid for not paying up on time, etc, etc.

But when you serve a tour as an admin personnel clerk at the 12th Supply Squadron in Cam Ranh Bay, with access to cutting award orders or adding your name to a request for orders for people who deserve the PH, there is always a lot of wriggle room to speculate just how his award came about.

But later on when you claim to be a Brigadier General and received the MOH, well, any previous awards are suspect.

Having a PH does not wipe the slate clean for subsequent assbaggery.

      1. ChipNASA

Technical question, Don’t they list the awards on the DD-214 in sequence of order of precedence?? If not then this is a non issue, BUT if SO, then Why the happy Fuck is a Purple Heart squeezed in between Air Force Commendation Medal and a Air Force Good Conduct medal?? I find that extremely odd.

        1. Claw

Chip, answer to tech question: No, not that I’ve ever seen. At least on my DD214’s, there is no precedent listing.

But as I said, he was a personnel records clerk, so…..

  17. ChipNASA

Fuck you, you phony bitch. I hope you get ass cancer.

    /SMSgt, Ret. 2 MSMs.
I don’t lie about my service.

  18. 3E9

    What a dipshit.

  19. Walt Willis

So sad to learn this about the guy that fixed my truck many years ago and gave me a copy of part of a book he said he was starting to write. Charles you do great harm with your lies as it makes others that have been there and done that not believed. I’ve been fooled by two others and don’t like that shit any more then your lies. My question is why disrespect your fellow military that way? I do that you for your service, but I am very pissed with what you have done!
