Prime Minister Theresa May of the UK is clearly siding with the in-coming Trump Administration on the subject of Israel and their West Bank and Jerusalem settlements, according to Reuters which reports that May is “scolding” John Kerry for Kerry’s description of Netanyahu’s coalition as “the most right-wing in Israeli history, with an agenda driven by its most extreme elements.” He forgot to add his favorite comparison that they are “reminiscent of Jenjis Khan”.

Britain scolded U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry for describing the Israeli government as the most right-wing in Israeli history, a move that aligns Prime Minister Theresa May more closely with President-elect Donald Trump.

After U.S. President Barack Obama enraged Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu by refusing to veto a UN Security Council resolution demanding an end to Israeli settlement building, Kerry’s public rebuke of Israel has unsettled some allies such as Britain.

So much for restoring our relationships with the world community – we seem to be angering our traditional allies faster than we’re angering our traditional enemies. The Daily Mail calls it a “War of Words”;

The war of words between Theresa May and Barack Obama’s administration continued today as the US State Department expressed ‘surprise’ at her strong rebuke of John Kerry’s Israel speech.

A spokesperson for Mr Kerry pointed out that nine other major nations had backed his condemnation of Mr Netanyahu over his construction of settlements in the West Bank while the UK PM had aligned herself with Donald Trump’s response.

The criticism of Israel by this administration is kinda like prying the “W”s off all of the White House keyboards, only much, much worse.

    1. Hard to say, but they sure seem to be doing purposeful damage right before Trump takes over to make his initial days that much more difficult.

    “The outgoing administration’s statements, actions, and Executive Orders do not reflect the opinions, philosophy, and actions of the current government of Great Britain and the incoming administration of the United States. The President Elect Donald J Trump, as soon as he is sworn into office, will work with the US Congress to reverse all unilateral actions of the Lame Duck Presidency and Administration.
    Signed this day, (etc, etc)”

  10. Someone noted that the Israeli settlements are not settlements at all. They are apartment complexes or housing developments. The word settlements rings of squatters or, at least, people in a land not theirs. The Israeli developments are on Israeli land. Language matters.
