Fox News reports that the FBI has a person of interest in the New York City bombing. His name is Ahmad Khan Raham, a good Irish name, probably a Catholic choirboy.

“Today I believe we’re going to find out that [the bombing] was influenced by foreign sources,” Gov. Andrew Cuomo said Monday on”Fox & Friends.”

The search for Rahami comes hours after federal authorities on Sunday night conducted a traffic stop in Brooklyn of a “vehicle of interest” in the Chelsea bombing. A law enforcement source told Fox News that a “number of individuals” who are possibly connected to the explosion were taken into custody.

Law enforcement officials told the Associated Press that at least five men were being questioned after the Brooklyn traffic stop.

Ahmad Khan Raham is Afghan by birth and a naturalized US citizen from Elizabeth, New Jersey. According to Fox, the FBI raided a home in Elizabeth and they found five more explosive devices, one of which detonated when they tried to disarm it.

But the real story about all of this is that Donald Trump told a crowd that it was a bomb that caused the explosion before it had been confirmed.

Two police officers were injured in the gun fight, but both are expected to recover. One took a round to his vest, the other, a wound to his hand.

  2. A Muslim immigrant is wanted for questioning with respect to an IED explosion in a major metropolitan area. It’s okay, though because the mayor said that it didn’t appear to be connected to terrorism.

  6. Yeah, the real story is that Trump irresponsibly jumped the gun on this, calling the bom a bomb before officials concluded it was a bomb. It could well have been something else, such as a gas leak into a dumpster in which someone discarded a lit cigarette or maybe an old car battery that ‘sploded. It is much more important to the media that Trump be faulted than it is to wonder how some terrorist who perfectly fits the profile of the “refugees” we don’t want here made some bombs and detonated one or two.

    1. One other thing. The harder the media try to discredit Trump, the more popular he becomes. They just don’t get it. Of course it was a f’n bomb. To borrow from Dylan, you don’t need a weatherman to know which way the wind blows. And we don’t need mealy-mouthed politicians or media members to tell us when it’s okay to state the obvious.

    2. Hillary called it a bomb about the same time Trump did, CNN declined to show that particular statement. This is my shocked face.

    3. The morning report was ‘no apparent connection’ but that’s the Lame Stream Media. They don’t want to offend anybody, but by refusing to acknowledge that possibility, they offend a lot of people.

      On the other hand, the media have always had this knack for turning gossip into a witch hunt, so maybe if they’re silent on whodunit, it’s just as well.

      But if Trump runs his mouth ahead of time, well, by Hannah, that’s the REAL news EVEN IF SHRILLARY DID IT, TOO.

    4. The linked Yahoo story can make you wonder if Marissa Mayer finds her writers on Craigslist. It wasn’t just that Trump called it a bomb before the official determination. Here’s part of the nut graf:

      “Trump’s campaign has not responded to multiple requests for comment from Yahoo News about how he may have obtained information about the cause of the explosion that was not publicly available.”

      Notice the innuendo for how he might have had something to do with it?

      The “officials” had not yet ruled out that it might have just been the ground shaking after Hillary “Humpty Dumpty” Clinton fainted and fell to the ground before anyone could catch her or brace her fall. Can you imagine the shock wave?

    6. When it’s raining outside, I don’t wait for somebody to tell me it’s raining; I can pretty much draw that conclusion myself. And when a bomb goes off, it’s generally pretty darn obvious (especially when it goes off in a dumpster) what the cause is. Maybe it’s not though, because certain cretins in the press and certain politicians don’t seem to be able to recognize it. Maybe they think they’re smarter than I, but they’re incorrect on that also.

  23. Saturday I said that they would bag him this week. It didn’t take them long. It appears that he was already on their radar. His prints and DNA were found on his unexploded devices and they had his name within hours of the Jersey Shore blast. It has been reported that he sued the police for harassing muslems. He seems like the kind of guy that would have used a certain disbarred lawyer from FLa.

    What I take away from it is that he was at loose ends, not interested in anything at all, and constantly getting into minor difficulty with local law enforcement.

    Then he found an excuse to ‘get even’ with people for imagined wrongs.

    The fact that the neighbors were complaining about people pissing outside his family’s hole-in-the-wall chicken shack had nothing to do with it.

Other reports say he’d made periodic visits to “family” in Afghanistan, returning radicalized after the last visit; had openly expressed distain for America; was openly anti-gay, claiming that there are “no gays” in that land of bacha bazi, Afghanistan; and had posted radical Islamic screed on a personal website.
