Duckworth ignores vets issues

Duckworth VoteVets

I don’t like Tammy Duckworth. I respect her service, but she’s been an incompetent boob since she left the military. Sadly, she lost her legs in a helicopter crash in Iraq. Then she went to work for anti-Bush MoveOn.org enclave, VoteVets. She was the Director of the Illinois Department of Veterans Affairs from 2006 to 2009. Folks in Illinois tell me that she saw herself as a figure head rather than take advantage of an opportunity to be a veterans’ advocate.

When she was hired by Rick Shineseki at the Veterans’ Affairs department, she brought the writing staff at VoteVets over to help cover up the failings of the Shinseki VA. While the VA burned around her, she volunteered to go to college full time while she was drawing a Senior Executive Services paycheck, ostensibly to ferret out deficiencies in the Department’s veterans benefit services. Duckworth used her status as a disabled veteran to shield herself from criticism, instead of actually doing something about the trials and tribulations that veterans in her situation suffer at the hands of a huge bureaucracy.

NBC Chicago reports that nothing has changed since she was elected as the representative in Congress for veterans in Chicago.

During a radio appearance Monday, Veterans Affairs whistleblowers Germaine Clarno and Dr. Lisa Nee claimed that Rep. Tammy Duckworth did little to respond to their claims of mistreatment of veterans and corruption within the Hines VA.

According to their allegations, Duckworth was largely unresponsive to evidence related to veteran mistreatment and inadequate investigations conducted by the VA’s inspector general.

Clarno claimed that, although she approached Duckworth “many” times, the congresswoman did little to respond to her claims.

“I never felt that [Duckworth] wanted to hear exactly what was going on,” Clarno said. “I really thought going to Tammy Duckworth, that she would be the one who would stand up and say this has got to stop.”

Anyone who expected Duckworth to give a rat’s ass about veterans should look at her record. Oh, by the way, she’s facing charges of whistleblower retaliation while she was at the Illinois Veterans Department. Duckworth’s life is about Duckworth, not anyone else. Anyone in Illinois who expects a change in her attitude if she’s elected to the Senate hasn’t been paying attention.

Thanks to Bobo for the link.

  1. WTF does it really take to care about your Brothers and Sisters. Of all people you would think that she could understand. Holy fuck, the Uniform goes beyond the stupid D and R crap. You can even be self serving AND still take care of others in a job like that. The better you take care of YOUR TROOPS the better they take care of you. Leadership 101.
Over 120K a year to give two shits and she could not come up with even one.

    1. All her care and concern was used up on herself. She is not a nice person and Jonn is spot on.

She was a figurehead at the IDVA and her reward was a nice job at the VA followed by Democratic machine support in her bid for political office.

No one respects her sacrifice more than I do, but I will not give her a pass because of it. In fact, I expect more of her because of it. If she were not a combat-disabled veteran, she would not have won her political seat.

Currently, she is running for the Senate seat of Mark Kirk, the Republican Senator who suffered a stroke in 2012, and who is also a veteran, a US Navy Reserve Commander.

Kirk is a lawyer, an MI Officer and a politician, but he also seems like a really decent guy, genuinely interested in veterans issues, and he has come down mostly on the right side of those issues. And Tammy Duckworth is going to take his seat because she is loud and brash about her sacrifice, as if that is a qualification in and of itself.

That was a really hard sentence to write, but it is also a hard truth. Look at that vetsvote meme. Sickening.

Illinois just gets worse and worse. I’m looking real hard at Texas or somewhere near the Appalachian range or foothills.

  2. My initial reaction, when Duckworth first popped up on the radar, was that she was a “diversity” graduate from Rucker. Someone had to work twice as hard to pull her and their weight in her unit. Watching her political record only solidified my opinion, sadly. regards, Alemaster

  3. Well she is just like all the other mainstream Democrats and Republicans
it’s all about the money and the payoffs.. nothing new here.. Washington has a way of corrupting the best of them. there is a reason why the establishment of the Republican Party hates Trump and Cruz and the Democrats Comrade Sanders. they don’t tow the line

  4. Concur with your analysis.
Any intel on character of her service while serving?
This kind of conduct doesn’t manifest overnight…

  5. Jonn, you really have a handle on Duckworth. Everything she does is all about her.

    1. She’s been a stoolie for Bodaprez for a while… she’s a Blue Falcon, first class (with dingleberries).

  6. “…Duckworth’s life is about Duckworth, not anyone else…”

That pretty much covers the bases regarding this hack…

  7. I’d say that Duckworth’s motivation has been anger at the Bush administration, the Republicans, and the Army in general for her injuries. She holds them personally responsible for what happened, and they are going to pay.

Some veterans who have suffered horrific battlefield injuries use them to motivate. Then there’s Duckworth.

    1. If she, and the others, were drafted, I could see their point of anger. Not now.

No one forced her to join the military. If she didn’t think that the bill would ever need to be paid for the training, pay, and, I bet in her case, the college tuition, she’s dumber than I thought. Ass, gas, or grass; no one rides for free.

      1. “Ass, gas, or grass; no one rides for free.”… haven’t seen that in a while, still love it.

I’m thinking the only thing I’d take from her is the gas.

        1. Would you give it to DB so he won’t crash his plane again?

(Covering my ears so I don’t hear the groans and boos!).

          🙂

    2. If true, someone should ask her why her aircraft was flying through an area of known enemy activity? Having served in that same area at the same time in another aviation unit, we wondered that out loud when we heard of the shoot down. At some point you have to take some responsibility for your own actions. While the Bush administration ordered us there, he was not responsible for tactical ineptitude.

  8. I have never been a fan.

With all respect to her service and her injury, I met her years ago at a function and she struck me as a space cadet.

She used her injury among other things to parlay her career into an area she had no experience. Although she is was an Officer, it is very similar to an E-2 deploying to the box and then styling himself as an expert of Middle eastern foreign and domestic policy. People will eat it up (especially the PH) but have trouble seeing past the lack of knowledge and experience.

  9. This one hits very close to home.I live about two hours from Tomah VA Hospital in Wisconsin. Tomah has a PTSD unit that vets from through out the state (also Illinois,Iowa & Indiana) go to for treatment.

In 2014,a patient died of an overdose from opiates prescribed from hospital’s chief of staff, psychiatrist Dr. David Houlihan, also known as the “Candy Man”. Tomah was also nicknamed “Candyland” during this time because of the huge amount of opiates prescribed. There were so many prescribed, that police found them being sold on the street in the area still in the bottles with the patient labels still attached.

A whistle-blower employee contacted Baldwin and told her about what was going on there. All he heard were crickets. He then contacted Ron Kind (D) from Wisconsin, and still heard crickets. It was only after he contacted Sen. Ron Johnson (R) from Wisconsin, that things began rolling.

When Duckworth heard this, it was ONLY THEN she became involved and started doing something about it (to cover her ass of course) and of course taking credit for it. Guess she didn’t want to look bad. In my opinion, way to late. Anything to protect her sorry political ass.

As Jonn said earlier, she hasn’t done a damn thing for veterans under her watch.

A disabled veteran and a politician given a great opportunity to clean up the VA mess and she didn’t do shit. IMHO, she is a special kind of bitch!

    Oh ya, she’s also anti-gun.

I was diagnosed with PTSD back in 2010. They VA wanted me to go to Tomah for further treatment in 2014 just before this story broke. Call it my sixth sense or whatever, but I said no. I now & have been attending meetings & individual counseling at a local VET CENTER. I can’t say enough good things about them. They are caring, professional and take great pains in ensuring the vet has the best care possible. I have highly recommended them to a number of vets.

  10. So basically she is a McCain in training. She should hire disgraced Islamist terror lobbyists asap and get some foreign experience under her belt by meeting with and taking pictures with Americas enemies.

  11. Tammy Duckworth, just another self-centered Blue Falcon politician.

“Politicians are like diapers, both need to be changed often and for the same reason.” – Samuel Clemens (Mark Twain)

  12. I had a favorable impression of her when I saw her light up some scumbucket who hurt his ankle playing football at a military prep school getting grilled by her because he was using Disabled Veterans preference to get a contract.
The comment about her being a “special” grad at Fort Rucker has me wondering about what she was about all along.

    1. I saw that exchange as nothing more than an opportunity for Duckworth to highlight her own injuries for political purposes. Everything she does is for Duckworth.

  13. Wounds of any kind do not make a person good or bad, but I have definitely seen them make a person better or worse. It depends on the type of person you’re dealing with before the trauma, as to what you will see on the other side.

  14. This twat is corrupt as Hell, just like Obummer and the rest of the shitfuckers that make up the current land of the enslaved and the home for those who cave.

  15. Do we have anyone one here that served with her? What is her back story? How was she as a Soldier?
