SW Uniersity SOL a private law school that opened in 1970s. Its full-time program fell out of “US News and World Reports” rankings 2 years ago (it’s now “unranked”). In 2011, it ranked 121st.
It also seems to have a pretty spotty record of placing its graduates in positions requiring a law degree and bar admission. Statistics indicate that less than 2/3 of the school’s graduates pass the bar, and less than 45% end up employed as lawyers 9 months after graduation (154th out of 197 US law schools).

All in all, I’d say it’s not exactly on a par with Harvard Law.
That pass rate does not tell the whole story.

Those are persistent numbers.
They have their test, and they have what they want to see, which is completely unrelated to the competent practice of law. At least some accredited law schools have for-credit courses in taking the essay portions of the California bar, because unless you are clued in, you will never figure it out, again because what they are looking for is completely unrelated to the competent practice of law.
But if you pass the test and you are an illegal alien, you can practice law in California. The California Supreme Court said so. So much for the character and fitness investigation.
Bernath was/is licensed in California. That means Bernath passed the California bar, and its character and fitness investigation. That is more of a commentary on the nature of the California Bar than it is of Bernath.

Once again, your arrogance and jealousy drive your actions here. Those that attend Don Shipley courses range in age and walks of life. They also range in different athletic abilities, from lack thereof to being extremely athletic.
However, the very fact that he is succeeding in a business that he has built based on his experiences, and that his success is consistent and sustainable, really gets your goat. This is something that you are hoping to do in your own life, but have repeatedly failed to do. I am practiced at identifying sociopaths. I know this because I have referred people for testing and every time they did score very high on the APD scale and or were clinically diagnosed.
I also found a few bad guys in Iraq by realizing they were sociopaths while working with the local community and referring their photo/biodata in an RFI.
Most sociopaths are easy to spot in a short period of time if you know what to look for. High functioning sociopaths are more difficult but not really that hard either if you get to know them.

It takes more than a single observation of someone’s actions on video to “get to know” someone. That’s why reputable psychologists and psychiatrists absolutely refuse to diagnose mental conditions on the basis of a 5-second video clip. The fact that you’d purport to do so shows hubris in the extreme.

People have areas of specific focus. I am early at developing it but my area of focus is on the effect of the behavior of sociopaths in our political economy. Because they are a major spoiler for most political ideologies. Due to the existence of sociopaths many idealized political economic theories would fail in their purist forms. Even capitalism.
I spent a huge amount of time studying the behavior of anti-social personality disorder. May be more than any other single subject outside economics. No, I am not licensed so my assessments do not carry the weight of a diagnoses I am at least as well trained at spotting them as someone with a license. There really is very little research out there about their behavior that I have not read.
No clinician would make a diagnoses through a single video (but they would make their own personal assessment and their assessment would almost certainly be that the guy is an APD individual) but, like I said, I am not making a diagnosis.
I see you as one who feels very insecure about himself and you display it with your rants and posts, it seems to me that you always feel that you have to out-think, analyze and try to impress everyone with the length and content of your posts. You are dabbling in something greater than you can possibly imagine!
Well, if we’re assessing people now, let’s go over some things we know about Lars.
1) Lars hates it when people disagree with him on anything. If he’s challenged on any opinion or assertion, rather than defending his position, he will respond with ad hominem attacks, personal insults, and of course the show-stopping “if you don’t agree, you’re wrong.” He will declare anyone who doesn’t share his views to be racist and/or mentally defective. His response becomes noticeably more vitriolic when he’s actually proven wrong, and on at least one occasion he’s resorted to thinly-veiled threats of violence (“I can’t wait to meet you fucks in person”). Though several people here at TAH have offered him due credit for his occasional good insight, he will turn around and call them “trolls,” “idiots,” “fuckwits,” etc if they attempt even a mild debate with him. In short, Lars can’t be wrong. Ever. Or else. I’m no psychologist, but this behavior certainly strikes me as extremely immature and insecure.
2) Lars seems to exhibit a pathological hatred of Christianity and Christians. He claims to have been the victim of some conspiracy to oppress non-Christians while in the military, and has repeatedly been disingenuous regarding the Original Intent of the Constitution and Bill of Rights, often contradicting the openly-stated and widely-published opinions of the men who wrote it. When other atheists have questioned his account and indicated that they felt no such persecution in the military, he resorts to the crap listed under (1), frequently declaring people to be “Christian Theocrats” when they have repeatedly made it clear that they do not adhere to the Christian faith. I’m no psychologist, but this looks an awful lot like some kind of irrational paranoia, coupled with the aforementioned insecurity.
3) Lars is prone to absurdly dramatic outbursts. I can personally think of four times that he has declared that he is “done” with this blog, and “can’t stand you idiots,” and “won’t waste [his] time with you anymore.” Yet he quickly reappears, more of the same crap issuing from his keyboard. He will insist that he’s not going to bother arguing with you (liberally punctuated with personal insults), then keep right on arguing with you and insulting you. When challenged to support his position, he often comes back with, “I didn’t bother reading your reply,” followed by additional insults. I’m no psychologist, but this looks a lot like an insecure individual who desperately craves attention and seeks to reaffirm his fragile self-image by declaring himself smarter than everyone else.
4) Lars is economical with the truth. Some have called into question Lars’s claims of personal experience. To say the least, he seems to have been the only one in the entire Army to have experienced certain things. He claims that there’s more like him, but none have come forward. He insists that his own stated experiences are irrefutable truth, but accuses others of lying about theirs when they don’t match his. And there’s the fact that he habitually does what he insists he won’t do (leave the blog, continue arguing with Hondo, etc). I’m no psychologist, and I hesitate to go so far as to use the word “liar,” but that doesn’t match the definition of credibility, at least not as it was taught to me.
I’m no psychologist, but Lars seems determined to convince me that he’s an immature, untrustworthy little prick who comes here to take out his insecurities on others.

1 – Lars hates people who dare to disagree with him on anything.

Ok, I will give it a whirl. Not speaking about any particular individual of course, I would not want to break a three volume set of rules by doing such a thing.
“Some individuals” tend to over compensate compulsively. They are egomaniacs with inferiority complex’s. Generally their predisposition for the behavior is exacerbated by a dramatic change in their frame of reference.
Common in those recovering from substance abuse or other forms of addiction. During the recovery process they tend to suffer from delusions of grandeur.
Their lack of positive reinforcement during adolescence from parental figures leaves them constantly seeking attention. A nurturing environment, the love another person, and close long term relationships are difficult for them.
The solution often used by these people is negative attention through confrontation. I know it seems odd but they will seek it at all costs. Never letting anyone completely love you spares the risk of ultimate rejection.
If I knew anyone like that around here I would just try to love the little guy. He will come around.

The NIMH definition is a good one, but seems to lack a couple of distinctions– at least for the slow learners such as myself:
Sociopathy is not a binary; just about anyone is capable of it at some point in the Freudian sense of id, ego, and super-ego balance. Mostly it’s a consistent pattern taken to a higher degree.
It also helps to make a distinction between psychotic and sociopathic. Psychotics don’t know the difference between right and wrong; sociopaths do know the difference but choose to ignore it.
Works for me, YMMV…
In practical terms, it mostly doesn’t matter whether you are dealing with a psychopath or a sociopath, except one sort of follows logic while the other just doesn’t care about it. So, if you MUST deal with either of them, it can be helpful to know which one it is. Sociopaths generally are more difficult to anything approximating a normal relationship. Psychopaths tend to at least operate in a their own self interest, somethin which can be tapped into if you must deal with them.
Seems like I read that stuff a long time ago in a textbook somewhere. Who knows if any of it is true. We plebeians can probably get by with calling the subject of this post bat shit crazy without fear of contradiction.

FTR, how many times has anyone at TAH attacked any of Daniel A. Bernath the Fred Phelps clone’s family? Yeah they’ve been mentioned, but all I can recall is when someone stated they heard he’s been disowned by them!
This Barnyard jerk wins. He already has everyone looking at him, so as an attention whore he wins. He files a lawsuit to get everyone worked up, only to get them delayed for some odd reason. After a few delays, he will get it dismissed and then start a new lawsuit again a couple of months later. When no one is watching, he will win by default. The only way to shut this idiot up is to sue him and show the court that he has been playing the system over and over again and will never show up. To my understanding, he was disbarred in California and cannot practice law.
He is not disbarred :YET: By not showing up a default was entered, meaning the evidence presented against him has been accepted as fact, to wit, he was portraying himself as a licensed attorney while he was inactive.
The last part of the saga is for the state court to review the evidence and default plea entered and enter his disbarment into record.
Bernath could ASK to delay the proceedings, but it is highly doubtful that would happen.
By the way Dan, there is a good chance that the legal team at Yelp could have been tipped off that you were on inactive status while you were drumming up business to sue them. You damn sure have enough people with a reason to do that.

Not sure if you can open carry in Florida on your own property (not my state), but in Don’s video posted on YouTube November 9th, at the 7:06 mark, you can see Bernath standing in the street talking with the reporter with the sidearm on his hip. Last I checked, your property ends at the curb (or sidewalk depending on local rules), so a home-property exemption wouldn’t apply to him there. And he can’t claim extenuating circumstances, such as chasing someone he felt was a physical threat, since he voluntarily went into the street for the reporter to speak with him. It’s clear he was violating the Florida law. (though I am not a lawyer, so seek proper legal counsel if needed 🙂

Ok … I think I have you beat. Today, I received a letter from lawyer Bernath. I read it and almost fell down because I became light headed because I was laughing so hard. This is a no shitter and this is what happened in the first minute of the second call after he hung up on me during call # 1.
I called back to tell him that I needed to answer his demand.
