Daniel Lee Marshall Jr., the fake Ranger who had insinuated himself into the Marcus Luttrell family circle while the SEAL was missing in Afghanistan, was sentenced last week to sixteen months in federal prison for being a felon in possession of a firearm according to the Houston Chronicle;
In 2005, when Luttrell was the sole survivor among a group of SEALs is a clash with Taliban fighters in Afghanistan and was temporarily missing, Marshall got close to the sailor’s family.
Five years later, Marshall was first accused of taking a pistol from the Luttrells’ ranch. About the same time, Rangers became suspicious of Marshall’s claims of military service.
Authorities who searched Marshall’s trailer found an Army dress uniform with ribbons he did not earn and a pickup with a Purple Heart license plate that he did not deserve. They also copied photos found on the Internet that show Marshall in a uniform with a Ranger patch.
Marshall did serve in the Army, authorities said, but only briefly and did not deploy overseas.
The Chronicle says that he faced ten years in prison for the charge, to which he pleaded guilty back in September so I guess he got off easy.
In related news, Texas just stiffened the penalties for stolen valor from a class C to a Class B Misdemeanor with the governor’s signature yesterday;
Senate Bill 835 increases the penalty for such crimes from a Class C misdemeanor, which is punishable by up to a $500 fine, to a Class B misdemeanor, punishable by a fine up to $2,000 and up to 180 days in jail.

That jail list seems to be growing.
They all need a disbarred lawyer to be their guardhouse lawyer.
And at the rate he seems to be going, he’ll be joining them sooner rather than later.
They increased the fines, but I didn’t see anything about increasing the FLOGGING?
look at all them pretty tabs he did not earn…
Oh how I love a happy ending.
Splash. Out.
Good. Fuck HIM. I hope he spends a LOT of time choosing between jelly and syrup.
I can’t help but wondering if he was not found with a weapon, would they have prosecuted him for anything at all.
I’d love to read an article someday where a poser with an undeserved/fraudulently obtained Purple Heart license plate died of rectal bleeding, after the local sheriff shoved the plate up his ass sideways.
Well, at least the Luttrell family won’t have to worry about him for awhile. Hopefully they severed all ties with him and anything to do with him, when they found out what he was.
“was sentenced last week to sixteen months in federal pound-me-in-the-ass prison for being a felon in possession of a firearm” fixed it. I can’t imagine his fellow residents are going to be easy on him, at least I hope not.
I Love Happy-endings ! !
I hope they send him to Leavenworth, LMAO ! ! !
I’m sure he’ll be well fed during his prison time, he’ll have plenty of cockmeat sandwiches with extra mayo and nut butter!
^WORD^
Im waiting for Bunny boi to show up and comment about how much he hates fake Rangers.
His father sent me his current address the other day, apparently bunny love is living with his grand mother again. Forgiving woman she is, I can speak no I’ll against her, just hope bunny boi doesn’t steal her check book again
Look at the Ranger Scroll…I’m just a ex-USAF punk but a scroll means (I think) that you served in a Ranger Battalion (cook/bitch/secretary/etc) and were NOT a Ranger.
Just to get into Ranger Bat, you have to complete RIP (which I think is called RASP now) for lower enlisted folk. Its a 3 week smoke session the requires you to complete the physical requirements of Ranger school, but not the patrols. NCOS and officers went to ROP, which I don’t know what it’s called now. Same pass/fail requirements but with out the smoke session. Its a gentleman’s course I’m told, I was an e-2 at RIP, so can’t give accurate discriptions of ROP
Sarge: Exact opposite, Once you get through RASP you are awarded the scroll and the tan beret and considered a ranger and get assigned to a BN (Huge Feat) and must maintain the standard to remain. Once you complete Ranger School you are considered Ranger qualified and are awarded the Tab but you are not a “Ranger” unless you serve in BN. I am just a LRSD guy and we send alot to the school, completion is a huge accomplishment and very admirable…but they will tell you that they are Ranger Qualified and not Rangers as those that have served in BN, NO MATTER WHAT THE MOS, I have the utmost respect for anyone that has served in Ranger Battalion (NO MATTER WHAT THE MOS) just a Retired Paratrooper (11B). My friends will remind me of this “Ranger school is a School but the scroll is a way of life”
Worked with this asshole in houston.Told everyone he was shot in war,had cancer, and played football with Andre Ware.A very racist punk also.
It appears that Stolen Valor was just the tip of that walking pyramid of shit.
He is still an ass. I knew this guy well. Thought he was my friend, he just kept screwing people over with his lies, fake ranger gig and all the other BS he said he did. He is a POS. From what I understand, he got a beat down once a week in prison, whether he needed it or not. Not near the justification needed, because he screwed several people over. He best not come back to Texas.
