One of our ninjas sent us a link from Batavia, New York where 35-year-old Joseph J. Kuzma is currently awaiting sentencing for stealing more than 400 markers and flag holders on veterans’ graves back in the Fall of 2014.

A total of 192 brass markers and 262 brass flag holders [from] up to eight cemeteries in both Byron and Bergen were stolen. However, Mount Rest Cemetery, Byron Cemetery and Saint Brigids Cemetery were the worst hit.

Kuzma is required to pay restitution, and the Sacked-Merrill-White American Legion Post in Bergen, is accepting donations to help with the cost of replacing the markers.

He’s supposed to be sentenced today. His profile at LinkedIn doesn’t mention any military service, but he seems to be fairly well educated. Educated, but not smart, apparently.

    BS and MBA from St. Bonaventure – almost back to back, 1998-2000 and 2001-2002. I’d guess Daddy funded that. Though I will give the tool credit for finishing them earlier than the norm.

    And, speaking of “dear old Dad” – no, I don’t know if this is this guy is his dad, another relative, or totally unrelated. But based on facial features, I wouldn’t be surprised if the two are in fact related. What do you guys think? Likely family resemblance, or am I out to lunch or connecting nonexistent dots?

    2. Looking at his resume’, I see he’s never held a job for very long despite his education. To me, that says he has a host of personal and/or personality issues, and I’m sure we’ll hear of more scumbag stunts done by him in the future, he looks like a ticklemonster as well.

    3. It wouldn’t be outside the realm of possibility…looks like they both worked at G.E. in the New York area – dad in the late 90s and him in the early 2000s. Probably had an “in” as a risk analyst there because he could name drop a former family member. Companies do that all the time and actually encourage friends/family to apply. Incestuous IMO but that’s how it is.

  14. Brass is selling at $1.35/lb depending where you go and a few months ago was up near $1.65/lb…I’m thinking turd boy figured no one would know and the scrap yard wouldn’t care where the brass came from…

    Epic Fail that I sincerely hope hurts him hard.

    1. I don’t know about other places, but the scrap yard I sell metal to does their business through a drive through Bank Teller’s drawer and there are cameras recording the transaction. I’m sure it helps them assist LE in catching lowlives like this critter, and I’m sure that Bubba, Thor, and their gang will straighten his ass out in NO TIME!!
