True to their word, the government of Jordan hung two of the convicted ISIS terrorists they had in custody according to Reuters. Jordan believes that their pilot, Muath al-Kasaesbeh, was burned to death a month before the video was released yesterday.
Kasaesbeh’s father said the two executions were not enough and urged the government to do more to avenge his death.
“I want the state to get revenge for my son’s blood through more executions of those people who follow this criminal group that shares nothing with Islam,” Safi al-Kasaesbeh told Reuters.
“Jordanians are demanding that the state and coalition take revenge with even more painful blows to destroy these criminals,” he said.
The Jordanian army has vowed to avenge his death, and some analysts believe it could escalate its involvement in the campaign against Islamic State, which has seized large areas of Iraq and Syria, Jordan’s neighbours to the north and east.
So, that’s probably not working out the way that ISIS had planned. Of course, King Abdullah of Jordan actually has experience in the military – he’s pulled a trigger a few times. He was commissioned as a Lieutenant in the British Army after graduating from Sandhurst and he commanded British troops for a year. When he returned to Jordan, he commanded their Special Forces and was a major general before he became king.

I guess ISIS, or as Obama calls them; ISIL, crossed the Jordanian “red line.”
At least someone has some balls and sticks to their word in this world!
There’s only one way to deal with those ISIS/ISIL vermin, KILL THEM ALL and let Satan eat their souls.
Yes.
Root and branch, trigger pullers, neck cutters, money raisers, IT, untrained, mouth pieces, any and all involved, gender and age irrelevant.
No mercy, no quarter, no exceptions.
Enjoy! NSF (blood/guts)…”money shot” is around 2:30 but gets interesting about 2:00

SA–WEEEEET!
Kill em all.
Two. Well, the journey of a thousand miles starts with a single step.
I can’t figure out why this isn’t appropriately titled as the “Wednesday Morning Feel Good” story?
Why only two? Would they like to have some ready replacements from Club Gitmo?
No,no. We give Gitmo to the Japanese for railway construction workers in Cuba, Thailand or Burma, either or.
There were 6 altogether, these two are the start.
If the Congress does not stop the release of Gitmo grads, we are going to see more horrors.
The State Department would individually and collectively give birth to all known farm animal species (as in, “have a cow”) if we handed over the Gitmo detainees to the Jordanians.
Sounds like a really good reason to do it. Call it extraordinary rendition … or something. Mr. Obama could close Gitmo. Win win for everyone.
If the Jordanians only have 4 left, I think that they know how to get more. And, for what its worth, I think that they are properly motivated to deal with this “sacrifice” shortage.
I think it would be just great if they rounded up a bunch of those barbarians, located an axe and a nice oak stump, and started cutting up their prisoners on video.
I don’t want to do it and I probably don’t want to see it but I suspect that if it happens, ISIL/ISIS/”those assholes” will find someone besides Jordan to attack.
Maybe if Obama really wants to close Gitmo he could move those prisoners to Jordan….where they will find heaven at the end of short rope drop.
Two,for now. They’re just getting started and they will go after these animals. They don’t play by Obumbles ROE. This is now a blood feud and the family of the pilot will say when it’s been enough.
and apparently that family is a pretty large tribe? If so, ISIS may have pissed off the wrong folks – doesn’t family/tribe outweigh all else?
yep
It’s pretty sad when the leader of a ME state shows more leadership against the Islamic terrorists than the President of the United States . Jordan is taking out the trash, we are repatriating them.
It was, and has been pretty sad when someone like Vladamir Putin looks more presidential and grown up that “Skippy” Obama.
Maybe this administration could send Lurch to Jordan with his living jukebox, as was done in France after that Charlie Hebdo shooting.
No, no, no. That’s “Boathouse” Barry Obama
You mean B. Hussein 0bama, who eats ice cream like a college cheerleader?

A side story on the King’s father:
When he was alive and being treated at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester MN, he met a little girl that was, also, going through treatment, and they became friends. When the King overheard that the parents were having some financial hardships, the King told the Mayo that he would take care of any treatments the little girl needed. That is a man. It sounds like his son is cut from the same cloth.
King Hussein was a hell of a man. So is his son.
When in Israel in February 2001, Miriam, an Israeli, told me a story about King Abdullah’s father:
I don’t recall exactly when these events took place, but a man, who turned out to be Jordanian, murdered one or more Israelis. The King came to Israel, asked to meet with the families of the victim(s), and in their presence, got on his knees, said this murderer was no hero, and as the King of Jordan, begged for their forgiveness.
That, ladies and gentlemen, was the kind of man King Abdullah’s father was.
How I wish POTUS was like that … you know, a REAL man, not a classless, vain, bag of hot air, unable to admit to any error. Who does he think he is? God?
Obozo? A Libtard? Admit to there being a G-d? Libtards don’t believe in G-d. Noooo, Obozo just thinks (as a Libtard) of himself as the Most Elite being on the planet.
@ OLD SOLDIER 54:
You were in Israel?
I went there in August of 1971.
Boy, did I love it!
Here’s what I’ve written about my tour of Israel:

Just wow! Speechless!
King Abdula quotes The Unforgiven… one of my favorites I must say…

Yeah, it’s nice to see someone that knows evil when he sees it and has the intestinal fortitude to not only call a spade a spade, but to do something about it, instead of blather on.
Tellingly, the story in the link says that during the meeting between His Majesty and the lawmakers, there was no mention of PrezBO. None. At. All.
Way to go, guys!
I like this King more and more. He IS a leader, which we don’t have.
I also like what he said: “the only problem we’ll have is running out of fuel and bullets.”
Could we loan them somd Warthogs? I can’t think of a better moniker for a weapon to use against the Slimeballs of the Middle East.
AdamsSamoa…Sadly all our president could quote from were show tunes and whatever Al Sharpton gave him as his “rhyming rundown” of all things he knows nothing about.
The president was quoted as saying n regards to the Jordanian pilots death, “if the police see black, they better get back”, with a big shit eatin’ grin.
An aide then pulled his sleeve and spoke in his ear. Obama then said, “Sorry reporters of the press club, wrong speech, wrong issue, wrong nation”, It WILL be right cause I’m NEVER wrong, just in another press conference later with my main man, Big Al Sharpton”.
Our national leadership would improve if we showed 1/10 the testicular fortitude shown by His Majesty. Of course, PrezBO isn’t going to say or do anything to upset his Muslim masters, but my hat’s off to the King for telling it like it is and making sure ISIS understands just what kind of hell can be unleashed in their direction.
Well, bodaprez did say he will up the aid to Jordan from $660 million to $1 billion.
Maybe he could chip in a little from his campaign coffers, too.
Now if Big Bird could lean a new trick from this guy…. Hmmmmm NOT ! ! ! !
I checked the Amman, Jordan weather report for Wednesday. There was a morning shower predicted. If it occurred, the two terrorists were…(Do I dare? You bethum I do!)…”Swinging in the Rain.”
Great crowd. Thursday. Veal.
2/17 Air Cav…Thanks brother. Now I’ll have Gene Kelly in my head all day. 😀
Swinging in the rain,
Just swinging in the rain,
What a glorious feeling,
They’re dangling in pain,
Just swinging, and choking,in the rain…
Badah bah (h/t Sheldon Cooper)
Dammit, AirCav, you just had to do that, didn’t you?
2/17 Air Cav:
You ARE a rotten bastard.
I really like that in a person 🙂
Napalm for the Jordanian Air Force and flamethrowers for the Kurds to help clear IS from buildings.
The king is a good man. I read this article about the boarding school he started a few years ago:
http://www.townandcountrymag.com/society/tradition/a893/kings-academy-in-middle-east/
THIS is how you deal with those MF’ers. No talking. Just obliterate them all.
Obama has no clue what a laughing stock he is.
I tend to think that PrezBO knows what a laughingstock he is, but just doesn’t care.
Jordan’s always been an interesting country. I know they inherited a strong British tradition following the expiration of the UK’s mandate over Transjordan and Palestine.
I always got the impression that they were dragged somewhat reluctantly into the 6 day war and I think they quit the fight pretty much as soon as “honor” allowed them to do.
Given all the problems Jordan had with the Palestinians (I’m pretty sure the PLO hates Jordan even more than they hate Israel)
I sometimes imagine that if Israel was to ever try and give back the West Bank, the King of Jordan would be all like “No, no, you won it fair and square, so YOU keep it. Seriously. Keep it. I don’t WANT it!” 😀
The picture is interesting. If I didn’t know it was the King of Jordan, I’d assume it was the Executive Vice President in charge of product development for a large corporation, and probably walk right by him on the street without giving him a second look.

Arguably, Syria is (or should be) ground zero in any fight with ISIS. But the US position regarding Syria is that we aren’t going to play there if Syrian President Bashar al-Assad is around. You see, the US concluded a few years ago that he used chemical weapons against his own people. So, he’s a bad man. The talking points memo holds him responsible for the strife inside Syria. And Assad doesn’t give a shit. He had been turning over chemical weapons for disposal but he stopped that in response to the Golfer in Mom Jean’s Syria strategy, which has failed miserably. Syria is now a major terrorist hothouse, growing them rear round. And Assad seems not to give a shit. He’ll be gone with millions, if not billions, one day, and Syria will make Mogadishu appear stable in comparison. Obama selectively uses US and military history to drive home certain points. He did so in casting Assad as someone to be red lined. What he ought to do is recall that Stalin killed millions and millions of his own people before WW II and tried to deal with the Nazis to avoid invasion. Well, we all know how that turned out. Stalin the murderer? Stalin the tyrant? Hell no. We needed him, so we called him Uncle Joe. Syria is the key and we have alienated Syria, from my superficial perspective anyway. I’d like to hear what the more knowledgeable folks here have to say.
There really isn’t a good answer to Syria. Comparisons to Stalin aside (yeah, we couldn’t have won the war without him, but we sort of grew apart over the years, didn’t we) Asad is a truly bad man.
Asad is a Shia in a country that is majority Sunni. Following in his dad’s footsteps, his government brutally cracked down on Sunni protestors, which led to the Syrian civil war and gave ISIL (formerly al Qaeda in Iraq) a safe haven.
You have to look at all of this for what it really is, an international three way Islamic civil war between brutal secular despots like Asad on one side, the Shia on another, and the fundamentalist Sunnis on the third. The despots want to hold on to the made up kingdoms (sorry, I like them too but this includes Jordan) and republics that formed after the world wars, and the Shia and Sunni are just picking up where they left off a few centuries ago trying to establish their own competing vision of a caliphate.
To complicate things, all parties have both a national and religious identity. Not all Muslims are Arab, but most Arabs are Sunni, except for most Iraqis and almost all Iranians (Persians) who are of course Shia.
Just to add that extra twist, everyone is backed by an external power. Sunni terrorists are generally backed by wealthy Saudis- think of it this way: if you were trying to run a brutal misogynist oligarchy based on oil money wouldn’t you pay all the dangerous radicals to go do their terrorism in some other country, preferably one whose oil industry threatened your income? Shia terrorists (Hezbollah, Jaish al Mahdi) are backed by Iran- who is actually kind of the stable, sane country when you think about it. Don’t get me started on the Russia/Syria connection.
ISIL is, of course, a fundamentalist Wahabist Sunni organization that gets a lot of private funding from wealthy Saudis. So, when ISIL moved into Northern Iraq they were welcomed with open arms by the Sunnis there that were suspicious and resentful of the Shia dominated Iraqi government.
The Shia dominated Iraqi army fled the Sunni dominated north and west because they had no interest in protecting Sunnis who hate them from Sunni terrorists that hate them even more. Don’t worry about Baghdad or the south/east ever falling to ISIL- Iran would straight up invade before they let that happen.
Hope that clears it up.
Btw, Jordan (again, I really like Jordan) participated willingly in the first two wars but only reluctantly in the Yom Kippur war, and they didn’t sign a peace treaty with Israel until the ’90s. to be fair, the first Muslim country that made peace with Israel had their president assassinate by the Muslim fundamentalists, so maybe they were wise to wait.
Funny story, though: when Egypt cracked down on the Muslim fundamentalists following Sadats assassination, they threw a bunch of radicals in prison. Two of them used their time in prison to solidify their ideas of a global Islamic jihad- Zawahiri, the idea man behind al Qaeda and the inspiration for bin Laden and 9/11, and Omar Rahman, aka the Blind Sheik, who you may recall was one of the conspirators in the 1993 WTC bombing.
I’ve read a couple of books about both the 1967 war (the 6 day war) and the 1973 Yom Kippur war (AKA The October War) and I’m pretty sure Jordan was not a participant in the latter. Even in the 1967 war their participation was pretty limited.
Why don’t we just get out of the way and let them all kill each other?

“The 41st-generation direct descendant of the Prophet Mohammad…”
Now THAT is wild.
well, at the old standard of 2s (you have 2 parents, 2×2 grandparents, etc) two to the 40th generation says Mohammed ideally woulda had about 1.01 TRILLION descendants in this generation. Considering the entire Earth’s population is what, 6-7 billion? it would be more remarkable if he was NOT descended from Mohammed.
It is actually fairly common for wealthy and prominent Sunni Muslims to claim descendence from the prophet. The honorific ‘sayid’ or sayeed is used to along with the family name to denote this.
wow, all the negativity over the President’s lack of balls. In his defense, a short list of world leaders compared to whom he has less balls, like the current heads of state of Argentina, Brazil, Kosovo, South Korea, Liberia, Germany, Denmark, Latvia, Chile, Malta, Peru, Poland, and Switzerland.
Civics lesson concluded.
David: Take a look at Latvia’s PM. Once you do, I think you’ll have to strike her from your list.
Talking about balls, Jordan’s king is now quoted as saying that he will be after ISIS until he runs out of bullets and fuel. Anyone disbelieve him? Seeing no hands, we may start the countdown.
you sure you are looking at the current one?
Or was I too subtle? They’re ALL women.
Yeah, I get it. My point was that one woman may be packing a pair, by the looks of her. She has that Golda Meir/Janet Reno sexy. That would be the PM of Latvia.
UAE stopped bombing ISIS last year when they finally figured out that Obama has no balls and wasn’t serious.
ISIS should have checked in the the Palestinian Terrorists on how Jordanians react when they get pissed off enough.
Stay tuned, this ain’t over by a longshot
King Abdullah quoted Clint Eastwood in Unforgiven. He quoted an angry, former raging alcoholic gunslinger of all people. Given the King’s background and the fact he is beyond pissed, I’d say Daesh is fucked.
