Vocativ says that they’ve caught ISIS relabeling UN aid as their own stuff and distributing it to Syrian refugees themselves;
Images uploaded to ISIS propaganda channels suggest that members of the terror network near Aleppo, Syria, are stealing food and other humanitarian aid packages delivered by the United Nations, relabeling the boxes with the group’s own logo and handing them out to desperate refugees. ISIS is calling its distribution of rice, oil and other supplies to the city of al-Sfera zakat, a traditional Islamic tithing for the poor.
And we should be surprised that these thugs aren’t honest?
I suppose it’s rather like US gov’t commercials on radio and TV. Never once do I hear or read, “Paid for by the US taxpayer.” Instead it’s, “Paid for by the [insert agency, department, or branch of service here.]” Never ceases to piss me off.
I saw truckloads of that type of shit, everything from raw food (flaur, sugar, tea, etc.), to packaged meat, to clothing, left out in the rain to rot and decay. At another site there were connex’s full of tri-wall boxes of clothing and leather soccer balls that had never been inflated, much less distributed. An Afghan Dad brought his little boy to the gate one day. The kid had broken his arm several weeks before and they finally brought him to the gate. The Doc and the medics looked at it and there was nothing they could do. The arm was not set right and had been left that way too long and atrophied. That kid left the gate with an inflated soccer ball. Civilian Chauvanist can suck a dick.
The best MRE’s I ever had were the Halaal MRE’s. Go figure.

Anyone care to make a little wager on whether or not the recipients of those care packages all belong to a few very specific Sunni Arab tribes?
It wouldn’t surprise me if it turned out those goat molesters were demanding something in return for that aid, like sexual favors from men, women, and animals.
ISIS hijacking and re-branding UN humanitarian aid? The very nerve! I’m sure Ban Ki-Moon, as I type, is crafting a strongly worded letter! Strongly worded, I say!
Especially important that it is strongly worded since 98% of ISIS can’t read…
The ISIS leadership will tell them, “Oh, it means we are going to kill your mothers and fathers because the whole world hates you and we do what we wan’t, screw the Quran!”
And then they’ll say, “Oh, in the Quran it says that the UN leadership are evil and must be killed, its in this chapter with the statement about how Americans must die, but before the chapter that talks about video taping beheadings and putting them on the internet.”
Doesn’t the UN have a rather solid rep for distributing aid directly to the belligerents, if the belligerents are anti- west in general and anti-US in particular?
This is nothing new, the Taliban was doing the same thing in Afghanistan. And/or they would find humanitarian aid in a village that didn’t support them, steal it, then take it to another village that DID support them.
Nothing new.
As I recall from long ago days, the Communists (and others) did that with U.S. AID packages and C.A.R.E. packages.
