You probably remember ol’ Dick Rahn who was arrested while he was impersonating a Sergeant Major a few months back. Well, Chief Tango sends us the news that he pleaded guilty the other day of the two weapons charges that he was facing;
Rahn pleaded guilty to a felony charge of possessing a pistol after being convicted of a crime of violence. That charge dates from September when law enforcement officers conducted searches and found firearms at his home and storage locker in Willmar.
He also pleaded guilty to an additional felony charge Thursday of possessing a pistol after being convicted of a crime of violence. This charge stems from an incident in September 2013 in which he allegedly shot himself in the leg while illegally possessing the pistol.
I guess that’s why he figures that he earned the Purple Heart – for shooting himself. The article reports that he faces sentencing in early March and that previously he had been convicted for burglary and on drug charges which preclude legal gun ownership. I would have liked to seen a charge of Stolen Valor, too, but I guess that’s not as sexy as weapons charges.
