We talked about this fellow, Liam O’Brien, last month when the Brits arrested him for pretending to be a Royal Marine and was collecting money for a real charity, but he’d planned to pocket his ill-gotten booty. Well, it seems that the Brits take that stuff seriously according to BBC;
O’Brien was jailed for three and a half years after pleading guilty to 12 charges including seven fraud offences.
Judge Peter Blair QC said O’Brien had risked “serious damage” to public goodwill towards the charity and he regarded this as “an extremely heinous act”.
Yikes!

Very true, but it’s being done by politicians, thus I say “DEEDS, NOT WORDS.”
As long as our court systems view this as a “free speech” issues nothing will ever get done. If the courts will support the KKK’s right to free speech, a poser’s lies seem innocuous by comparison. We somehow need to get the courts to focus on the lies and not the speech.
The US Justice system should take notes !
