Someone sent us an article from WSOC-TV about some ambitious thieves who stolen the above pictured statue.
Apparently, the local crime stoppers are offering a reward. I’m thinking that it’d be pretty difficult to hide and it looks more like a plea for help than a profitable crime.
Not necessarily, Jonn. Scrap metal is fetching a pretty penny these days. And I understand bronze, brass, and copper are at a premium.
If it’s bronze, it could have been stolen for the scrap metal value. Couldn’t find a price, but copper is getting about $2.50 a pound.
I hope that’s not what happened, but that’s a possibility.
But, I’ll bet they’re having a hard time keeping it from public view.
Nobody ever said that criminals were smart. This is especially true for druggies.
