More Twists and Turns in the Ukraine

As Alice said:  “Curiouser and curiouser!”

Fox News is reporting that a small column of armored vehicles sporting a Russian flag and troops in camouflage uniforms has been spotted in the eastern Ukrainian city of Slovyansk.   At least some of the troops claim to be members of the Ukrainian 25th Airborne Brigade that had decided to change sides.

The Ukrainian defense ministry was reportedly contacted, but declined comment.  But there have been other reports of some Ukrainian forces switching sides in the recent troubles.

Pro-Russian protestors were also reported to have taken over the mayor’s office in the regional capital of Donetsk.

I certainly hope cool heads prevail here.  Otherwise, this could indeed turn ugly – quickly.

Just hoping this Administration can remember who’s backyard is who’s.

This Administration can’t even count to ten!

    Cue the popcorn-eating pictures.

I’m hoping for the best for the Ukraine, but I’m prepared for the worst.

LebbenB…we’re on the same page. I’m just praying the “worst” does not include American troops in any capacity, NATO, UN or otherwise. It is a recipe for disaster.

        Me too, brother, me too.

What about the story where the Administration decided not to send radios, body armor, or NVDs to the Ukraine?

I think that is a mistake, I think that we should send stuff like that to the Ukraine. What do you think?

As I said in another thread; Putin can do what he wants, because we ain’t gonna do anything and neither is Europe. There was a suggestion that international Intel be shared with Ukraine, but we, the US, said no.
Then, someone suggested that MATO bolster their presence in the Baltic States and Poland, but Germany said no
So, as I have said, before; what are we talking about?

Now the pro-Russian idiots are requiring Jews to register with the gov’t in eastern Ukraine. What the hell?

Obviously Joe here is as ignorant of Russia’s history as he is concerning most other things.

Ever heard the term “beyond the Pale”, Joe? It doesn’t refer to any type/shade of color.

Here’s a clue, Joe: Russia (and, unfortunately, most of the rest of eastern Europe as well) has a very long history of institutional anti-Semitism.
