A Fox News link sent to us by Chip reports that two former SEALs, currently employed by the Trident Group were found dead on the container ship, Maersk Alabama, made famous by the movie “Captain Phillips” and the SEAL operation which freed the captain on Easter morning five years back.
The company said families of the two contractors have been notified and requested that their names not be released.
A spokesman from the shipping line only confirmed that two people had been found dead, citing the ongoing investigation.

The Maersk Alabama had been docked in Victoria, Seychelles, which is an archipelago in the Indian Ocean.
I’m sure there’s a longer version of the story somewhere.

Police in the Seychelles said the two men were part of a 24-member crew that arrived on Sunday and were expected to leave Tuesday. The two men worked for Trident Security Firm USA, police said.

I don’t like this one bit. Former SEALs killed on a ship that was the focus of a SEAL operation?
Sounds like someone wanted some payback.
Ships are just flat out dangerous places at times. It could have been some type of firearms mishap, but more than likely an accident dealing with bad ventilation or a fall.
I was also thinking the same thing…..carbon monoxide, industrial accident or the like. Could have been one brother trying to save another in some kind of incident and they both perished together.
Sad either way.

Is it a dry country?
I heard horror stories about a couple of airmen conducting field day in a working space on the USS Forrestal. They took a short cut and used Trichlorotrifluoroethane (FREON)to strip the deck of wax and displaced all the oxygen in the space and were found dead by another shipmate.
Dude. That ship seems cursed. If I was a merchant seaman, and someone offered me a contract to work on the Maersk Alabama, I think I would politely decline.
At this point, I wouldn’t be surprised if that ship hit an iceberg in the Gulf of Aden, or got torpedoed by a WWI German U-Boat or whatever.

My son #2 is in the Merchant Marine, and has shipped on Maersk vessels. His take on movie is much like my mine on Top Gun: low comedy at best.

This is a shame for two honorable men to pass this way. But that is the problem now. In what “way” did they die?

There is still no cause of death released as yet. Best not to speculate for the time being.

Considering the circumstances … The choices are few.
Air (carbon monoxide), food (poison), drugs (bad heroin).
If a gun was involved … Accident/Suicide. However that is highly unlikely. But possible.
Although drugs is my first guess … Industrial accident is a second best explanation.
