Thule Airbase is the home of the 821st Air Base Group, 750 miles north of the Arctic Circle. Maybe I just copied the wrong link.
I worked with a guy who was stationed up at Thule back in the 60’s. Didn’t talk about it much. Said it beat Vietnam, but not by much.
Everything forwards to Petersburg, so I assume they must be out of there.
Oh, yeah. You might want to take swim gear along, if you go. There’s a 100 billion ton aquifer under Greenland’s ice cap. They’re all mystified about this discovery.

Peterson AFB is not in Greenland — it’s at Colorado Springs CO — same place as Ft Carson!

The links Ex-PH2 provided are the correct ones. The unit listed there – the 821st AB Group – apparently falls under the command of Peterson AFB or one of the units based there. But the page appears to be for Thule AB, TSO; and this link from that page looks to be useful:

GT- If you haven’t been to Ft. Carson in a while, you probably wouldn’t recognize it. There’s been quite a bit of upgrading in the last few years.

You might be right.
Lets see, last time on post was around 2003-04. It was terrible.
Last time I saw it from a distance passing through was 2011 or so.
I knew a guy at Peterson and went out a few times.

Just returned from Thule this past March (sure beat Minot). I threw out my travel packets so I’m going off memory. You need authorization and a reservation to go there as a civilian and there will be paperwork. There is a space-A flight out of BWI every Thursday, or a Greenland Contractor flight every Tuesday out of Copenhagen ($1-2,000). You can call the lodging office at (719) 474-3840 ext. 3276 or e-mail them at northstarinn@thule.af.mil. The food is great, booze is abundant, and Ewa will make you a custom Thule Zippo.
