Fazel is here

For those of you who don’t Facebook (sometimes I understand why) Medal of Honor recipient Dakota Meyers posted this picture of him and his interpreter from the day he earned the Medal who was recently given his visa;

Dakota & Fazel

From the post on Facebook;

I appreciate everyone’s help. Today had been one of the best days ever being able to see a man who was next to me in the worst day of my life. Fazel is here he got his visa!

For background on the whole story, we wrote about it here.

  1. He comes to America, you take him to Wal-Mart!

    That’s getting him acculturated right from the start.

  2. This is the type of “immigration reform” we need to see. These are guys who earned the right to come to this country unlike those damn border jumpers.

  3. Outstanding! He most certainly earned the right to be here!! It sure doesn’t hurt when an MOH recipient is vouching for your character either!

  4. Having gone through the visa process, I know even the “easiest” cases can be a long slog. It’s great to see Fazel here and a big hand for those that sponsored him and helped in bringing him here. Well done!

  5. FANTASTIC News! Looooooooong overdue, and as someone else said above, let’s get the rest of them here who have already given so much for us.

  6. @11, so true. It sure didn’t need to take this long, tho. If Sgt Meyer hadn’t been bringing this to the forefront continuously, I wonder if it ever would have happened. So glad he safe. Well, safer, I guess. Assload of nuts running around lately.

  7. 9 – I think he actually had two – Both Dakota Meyer and Will Swenson were vouching for him I heard.

  8. Dakota is a fine man and he stands next to another!

    BRAVO ZULU Dakota … great fight and a better win!

  9. That man has done more for the U.S. then most citizens will ever do in their lives. He deserves every last second of his time in the U.S.
