I think this is the only story I’ve seen like this so far, that is related to the first responders at the World Trade Center.

I know I called my niece, who was a surgical nurse at Walter Reed. She said the whole town (WDC) was like a war zone: IDs had to be shown everywhere, traffic was restricted, and she had been in triage in the emergency room for about 8 hours by the time I called her that evening. She went from there, to Ft. Sam Hood, and then to Iraq.
