Vet robbed of tires for his vehicle

Rusty Dunagan and his family awoke yesterday morning to discover that the tires for his SUV had been stolen. But it wasn’t just any SUV, see, Rusty lost his legs in Afghanistan in 2010 and the SUV was a handicap-altered Denali designed specifically for Rusty;

Stickers decorating the Denali declare it belongs to someone in the military and the chair lift on the back signals it belongs to someone disabled.

“It is just very sad that you did this knowing you know what’s on our vehicles and you still went ahead and did it and it just shows what kind of person they are,” Angie Dunagan said.

The blocks holding up the SUV were stolen as well. They came from the garden border of the home across the street.

Annalisa, just 3 years old, missed out on the family’s planned trip to the zoo.

  1. When they apprehend these sh1tbags I hope the perps fall down on their faces repeatedly while attempting to escape…

  2. What kind of no-life ass wipes would steal tires from any handicapped? Much less a vet handicapped?
    When/if caught, cut off feet at ankles, cauterize with hot irons, leave in alley far from home turf (another state).

  3. This is where we quietly take care of our own. All we need is an address or a paypal account. I’m in.

  4. What Sgt Mole @6 said.

    They came, they saw, they took. What they didn’t do, was read. They couldn’t care less who that vehicle belongs to, or who they hurt– that’s what makes them criminals.

  5. Joshua, who also sent us the link, sent this;

    For those of you who have asked about how to help, Rusty does have a $500 deductible on his insurance.

    If you want to help in this way, you can send your donations directly to Rusty: Rusty Dunagan, [I’ll email the address on request]. Or, you can send via Paypal on his website: rustyholdmyhand.com Thanks for all your support, encouragement and prayers! Aunt Susan

  6. This really is an upside down world in which we currently live. Those who are most deserving receive the least amount of respect from the petty thugs as well as the major thugs.

    Can only echo all the previously stated negative comments. And THANKS! Jonn for posting that addie.

  7. Locking Lugs are a necessity in some parts of the nation, sadly…

  8. Add to the locking lugs, a small dog that barks at anything and A quality auto alarm, with pager for silent operation.

  9. The tires AND the rims — that isn’t cheap stuff.

    For a moment, I thought it happened in Chicago, because it’s so common there. But Oklahoma? That sucks.

    I guess you really do need an alarm and other anti-theft stuff now, no matter where you live.

  10. #1 beat me to the punch. A very spacial place is reserved for folks who do s@&t like this.

  11. The shitbags probably targeted that vehicle specifically because it’s a military veteran vehicle. The back of my car was egged the other day. I know my car was targeted due to my veterans license plate.

  12. Jonn, Please email me Dunagan’s address as I’m not on facebook to donate. Thank you!

  13. I read on the FB site that they received some money, and a neighbor replaced the tires and rims. Apparently the neighbor owns/manages a tire shop. Glad we have people who will right a wrong.

  14. The true shame of this indecent is that his thousand dollar plus set of wheels and tires has been sold or traded fo a hundred bucks worth of meth or heroin. I hope the jerks that did this die with the spike in their veins.

  15. Somebody apparently felt that they were more entitled to the rims and tires than this hero…. A very special place indeed….. MFs

  16. Hearing about lowlifes such as those thieves makes me long for the days when scum like that were horsewhipped!

  17. If caught, the low life mutts do not want a jury deciding their fate. Oklahoma City(OKC) has a large military active and served there. I would jackoff a bear with barbed wire. Joe
