“Washington, DC wanted some cases … I sent seven”

The title above was indeed an IRS employee speaking about the recent IRS scandal.  You remember – that little “rogue employee” brouhaha where Tea Party and other targeted conservative groups submitting for tax-exempt status were deliberately slow-rolled or obstructed while liberal or well-connected political allies of the POTUS got expedited treatment?

For full details, read the UK Daily Mail article.  It’s really quite interesting.

The statement was made about events occurring at the IRS connected to the scandal in 2010.  While not conclusive, this – and other information in the article – suggests knowledge of the scandal by IRS higher-ups as well as possible central direction of same from DC.

But remember – no need for anyone to pay much attention to this little flap.  It’s nothing anyone should worry about.  This was all the work of a couple of “rogue employees” acting on their own, remember?  The Administration said so, so it must be true.  Right?

Yeah, right.  More like, “That’s my story, and I’m sticking to it.”

  1. Unbelievable that people are not more outraged about this, Hondo!! The IRS has access to people’s bank accounts for GOd’s sake and they have abused and intimidated people beyond the scope of the job…I’m getting closer to going to DC…because this shit has gone on far too long. Heads should have rolled immediately.

  2. Crowley asks Issa if he ‘had a preconceived notion’ before the investigation? What about her preconceived notions? What about her attempt to debate Romney into submission when she was the moderator for one debate during the 2012 debates? What about her inappropriate behavior then? Why has no one stood up to that fat broad and faced her down?

Those other links in the UK article look enticing. This is NOT over yet. I give it, at most, another 18 months, before the sand castle is eroded away.

  3. Another thing I find amazing–why is it we have to hear criticism of this administration from the BRITISH press?

F’n seriously? Is that how in the tank our own media is here? I know, I know, yes, they are.

  4. Yes, most of them are still in denial, Sparky, but not ALL of them are like that.

Doesn’t it make you wonder, thought, just what it will take to get some of the more prominent ‘journalists’ (and I use that term loosely) to turn against their Chosen One?

Don’t think it can’t happen. I’ve seen stranger things than that.

  5. Amazing the administration were able to keep this under wraps for 2 years swaying reelections results in their favor.

I’d like to think that it would have mattered to our shit hole voting population, but have you seen the numerous videos of Fraudocrats actually admitting they approved of the IRS being used as a political tool to punish conservatives?

  6. Rogue Agents my a$$!
This administration lied about Fast and Furious, Benghazi and now the IRS scandal….. They think the messiah can do no wrong. Hell even Nixon had the decency to resign. SMDH

  7. Ex-PH2: the cost per conference actually isn’t that bad – for 220 conferences that works out to less than $230k per. If that includes travel costs to/from, that’s actually not bad. Conferences are expensive. That’s why DoD and the VA have cut way back on them.

Having said that – 220 conferences also works out to over 70 a year, or about 1 conference every 5 calendar days over a 3 year period. That many certainly seems excessive to me.

  8. That’s why DoD and the VA have cut way back on them.

How about CUTTING THEM OUT? I haven’t been to one since 2007. The only offsite training I’ve been to was a single-day “free” seminar and the only way we got paid mileage to the company in Boston at which the training was held was that our company was REQUIRED to do so.

  9. How many times do they have to remind you people?

80 or 90 independently rogue agents not taking any instructions from the folks who had over a hundred white house visits with the White House and it’s tax team did this all on their own without any knowledge of their superiors…..

I’m not sure how they run the IRS, but in any business I’ve run, a manager who doesn’t know what that many people are doing while those 80 or 90 are committing crimes gets fired at the very least and faces criminal charges along with the subordinates at most….

  10. @9. You’re right, this isn’t so bad. It’s about equal in number, to Michelle Obama’s vacations, right?

  11. And while she is “off duty”, Lois Lerner is still pulling down her $177K salary.

  12. Hmmm…I’m still waiting on evidence. Need more evidence! We can’t just convict the IRS without evidence!

Still chuckling at “anonymous” from New Haven on the weekend IRS thread and what a typical progressive he/she is. If it’s the current Administration, then full benefit of the doubt must be extended to all. Had any of this gone on during the previous admin, well then– Chimpy McHitlerburton is to blame of course– GUILTY!

  13. @7

With so many conferences its amazing nothing leaked out until well after Emperor Bam got his 2nd term. Not one employee got a bit tipsy from their Heineken and had a diarrhea of the mouth moment? I know, it wouldn’t have changed anything on Nov 6…the masses are tuned out and at least 47% don’t have a beef w/ the IRS anyway.

  14. Hondo, that’s $15+ million per year more than should have been spent on such things, particularly if they are like the ‘how to dance’ video. If you haven’t seen it, do so. It stops you in your tracks if you think about the $60,000+ it cost to make that, never mind the cost of the conferences themselves, especially when the rest of the peasants in the Kingdom of the One are having a struggle. It’s less about the cost than about the arrogance.

And I found this article this evening, which was interesting:

    http://openchannel.nbcnews.com/_news/2013/06/03/18727067-ex-irs-leader-urges-joint-congressional-probe-of-agencys-targeting?lite&ocid=msnhp&pos=1

  15. I have to say, this whole story pisses me off.

For what I do for DHS, I have to periodically deploy to various locations (the last one was 10 weeks during the winter in Ft. Myers, FL, so my “deployments” are not exactly what most of you think of as “deployments.”) That said, when we are billeted, cost is definitely a factor. The residence hotel in RSW had intermittently working facilities like the elevator and the on-site washing machines; housekeeping only cleaned once a week, and even then, they did a lousy job; the parking lot lights took two months to replace, during which time several vehicles (fortunately no G-cars) got broken into and/or stolen; and my team lead’s room was across from a guy who smoked so much weed she had to put towels under her door jamb to keep out the odor.

Then there are these guys. Why aren’t they staying in crappy hotels with broken stuff and stoners? Bet there’d be a lot fewer conferences if they had to.

  16. Our press is so cowardly and leftist, a foreign paper is giving better coverage of this.

  17. Have these clowns never heard of video conferencing? Why do they need to have in person conferences at all??
