No Latin American ‘Lenin’s Tomb’

It appears that previous reports that Hugo Chavez’s remains would be put on permanent view – like those of his ideological brethren Lenin and Stalin – were incorrect.  Venezuela’s information minister has announced that it will not do so “based on the advice of a Russian medical commission”.

Funeral arrangements for Chavez were not announced.

I’m heartbroken – just heartbroken.  I was so hoping one day to have a chance to visit a Latin American version of Lenin’s Tomb.

Oh well, there’s always Fidel . . . .

  1. Probably because it’s a fact that Lenin’s corpse had to undergo “maintenance” more than a few times, and was more plastic than anything else by the time the USSR collapsed.

  2. Maybe his most ardent marxist followers here in the States will do for him like they did Che and make a t-shirt with his ugly mug on the front?

  3. Reasons why Hugo Chavey can’t be preserved:

Hugo Chavez was actually killed inside WTC-7 when the CIA dropped it. His body double isn’t dead, just retired to Boca Raton, now that Putin’s puppet is ready.

Hugo Chavez actually started the Birther Movement, but was taken out by John McCain as being too conservative to be the Republican’s ally.

Hugo Chavez was taken out by a consortium headed by Michelle because he bought Twinkies to keep it from being altered in a healthy gluten-free cake with a creamed spinach filling.

  4. Don’t weep for me, Venezuela.
I ripped you off for all I could get.
    Destroyed the work force.
    Pissed off the bourgeoisie.
    Plundered your assets
    And threw out candy.
