Spam filter problem

Some of your comments are being sent to the moderation queue, not because of anything you did, but because my spam filter is being an asshole. I’m digging you out as quickly as I can, but I didn’t want anyone to think they’d done anything to offend me (which is almost impossible). Thank you for your patience while we work to correct the problem…or screw you, whichever works best for you.

Added: I’ve temporarily closed comments in posts older than three days in order to cut down on the spam until my spam filters servers come back on line. You can still comment on newer posts, but I’ll turn comments back on in older posts when Askimet gets their shit together.

Special note to our pool of writers; I’ve also shut off email notifications of comments so you don’t get an email every time a spam message goes to moderation. Again, I’ll turn it back on when those geeks at Askimet get it all back on line.

  1. Our email spam filter at work failed today as well. It’s been fun reading all the emails I’ve been missing from the royalty wanting to give me millions of dollars if I claim them as a relative.

  2. I’m somewhat of a rock when it comes to computers. I know what an IP address is, but how does it affect you on that end, and how can I find out where they are originating from.

  3. I think it’s all fixed now, so I’ve turned on comments in older posts again and turned on email notifications for the authors. Thanks for your patience.
