Some nutty woman by the name of Angela Akosua Cobbold was seen careening down I-66 in Arlington County, VA yesterday. Police radioed ahead to Montgomery County, MD where she was next spotted on Wisconsin Avenue near the new Walter Reed National Military Medical Center. Apparently, she tried to assault a police officer with her car and he fired at least one round before she crashed into the fence.
Police officers report that they spotted her chewing on a bar of soap while she was driving;
Officers who approached Cobbold’s car said they observed her “biting or attempting to eat a bar of soap,” says Capt. Paul Starks, a Montgomery County police spokesman. But the officers – part of the Department of Defense – weren’t able to engage Cobbold before she crashed into another car and headed back onto Wisconsin Avenue.
Police say Cobbold then drove down Wisconsin to the Medical Center Metro station, before driving back toward Walter Reed. An officer stopped the car, but police say Cobbold wouldn’t roll down her window, and the officer broke both the rear driver’s side window and the driver’s window with his baton.
Cobbold backed up and rammed her car into a marked cruiser, police say, then drove over a curb, across a sidewalk and into the grass. She then drove her car toward another officer, who shot once at the car, police say.

And people say bath salts are making people do crazy things. Who knows what bath soap will do to a person.
My theory is she was swearing while driving and was administering self disciplinary action.

This story is great! I hope they release the dashboard cam videos. It’s almost one of those things that if you saw it on a SitCom, you’d roll your eyes and say “Yeah, like that’d ever happen.” Thanks for the comic relief this morning and I hope that all involved are safe.

Ah, after looking at the updated video about this incident it is more clear. They said that she had recently been observed sitting in her car reading a Bible for several hours. So, perhaps she was upset with herself for something she had said earlier and was washing her own mouth out? Because, it would seem that she is some sort of religious zealot. Or something.

WOW, away for a few days come back and crazy, soap eating ladies are wreaking havoc….you really can’t make this stuff up.
I know I became quite the connoisseur of soap as a child.
That’s life in the District area. When I was on active duty at WRAMC (the old one) we had a couple of the security guards get into a gunfight… With each other. We had the sewage pipes burst over the DFAC, flooding the whole area with raw sewage, and closing it for months. We had Code pink protesters in the driveway ( no ‘accidents’ though… Sadly) We had a metro train try to drive inside another one that wasn’t moving fast enough…. Somehow a woman gnawing on a bar of soap and crashing through a fence doesn’t raise my eyebrows too much.
By the way, did you guys know they split the medical museum collection up when they BRAC’d the old hospital? All that weird stuff wen all over the Military and the gov, so the collection is pretty much gone for good now. And remember the big painting of the medic caring for a wounded grunt a
nd the Chaplin giving a mass on the good of a jeep? It was outside of the main briefing theater on the second floor. I guess it went to Benning. That made me sad for some reason. I was hoping that Army medical could find a spot for that at the new WRNMMC.

I’ll go out on a limb here and say alcohol was involved and she was trying to get the smell off of her breath. I’m sure that our former and current LEOs on here can tell plenty of stories that people do to get out of a dui.

They should just let her eat the soap if she likes it so much it must be her favorite snack so if I was a cop I would just let her eat it just like I do now
