Man arrested in TX with forged military ID

Kevin sends us a link to an article in the Fort Worth Star-Telegram which tells of the case of Azeez A. Al-Ghaziani (obviously an Irishman) who was arrested in Fort Worth for possessing forged military ID documents.

I guess he wrecked his Silverado in a parking lot and police on the scene noticed he had some firearms in his truck. Then they found the ID documents and called the military;

“When we contacted military officials, they advised that the vehicle be swept,” police Sgt. Craig Teague said in a telephone interview. “Officers could see weapons.”

The sweep was for additional weapons or explosives, Teague said.

Of course, we shouldn’t profile, but we can be observant.

  1. “…we shouldn’t profile”

That is the worst kind of “Intellectual Dishonesty”. We should profile.

Or as John Wayne put it in “Trouble Along the Way”, “The race is not to the swift, nor the battle to the strong, but if you are a betting man, that’s the way to bet.”

Which I gather is your point, but I’m having a day where I need things broken down Barney style or the world just isn’t going to make sense to me.

  2. It’s a religion of peace. Why be so concerned? Poor fella probably just wanted to rid Hood or Bliss of some pesky armadillos.

  3. Mainstream media: “A man carrying a military identification card and multiple assault rifles was arrested today…”

  4. @ 4 … a little more ….

A man carrying a military identification card and multiple assault rifles was arrested today, after wrecking his vehicle in a parking lot. In addition, explosives team and a bomb-sniffing dog were dispatched to the scene.

    Was this man a soilder?
    Does he have PTSD?
How many tours does he have?
Is the VA providing the services he needs?

    News at 11!

    UPDATE:

Sorry … he was a man-made incident maker (Terrorist).

  5. In the absence of his being ID’d as a vet, we should by now know that it means he is a civilian pondering an incident of workplace violence. The fact that there is a rather sympathetic undertone to the writing suggests that he was a terrorist. Had he been a US citizen, there would have been much more direct writing.

  6. H1, Ramirez nailed it, thanks for sharing it. As for Azeem, I wonder if he’s a citizen, and if not, what his immigration status is. I know, that’s profiling too.
And, nothing good can come from a guy showing up at a mall at 0500 with a rifle and shotgun. Be interesting to know if he worked at the mall, or had access to it.

  7. Profiling works for the Israeli’s, and has actually worked. The Hurst P.D. should do some digging and figure out why he had a fake military ID as there is a Naval base (JRB) in Ft. Worth not to far away, with Ft. Hood a few hours south on I-35.
