The Washington Times reports that two border agents were shot, one mortally, while they were on a horseback patrol in Arizona today. A third agent was unharmed;
The wounded agent was airlifted to a hospital after being shot in the ankle and buttocks, the Border Patrol said. He is in surgery and expected to recover, McCubbin said.
Authorities have not identified the agents who were assigned to the Naco station, about 100 miles southeast of Tucson.
The last U.S. Border Patrol agent fatally shot on duty was Brian Terry, who was killed in a shootout with Mexican bandits near the border in December 2010.
The Naco station was recently named for Brian Terry, who was killed with a weapon that BATFE agents allowed to be sold illegally to Mexican drug cartels in their failed “Fast and Furious” operation.
Speaking of which, if you haven’t heard, Univision, the Spanish language US TV station has been doing the work that that English speaking networks won’t. They’ve discovered 57 more F&F weapons that were linked to crimes in Mexico. The hyperlink to the story above is to ABC News, but they have yet to broadcast the results of Univision’s investigation.
Some of the weapons were discovered to have been used in a massacre of Mexican teens at a party. 20 gunmen murdered 14 teens and injured 12 others.
Univision also reveals that yet another gun-walking scheme went virtually unnoticed in the mainstream media, called “Operation Castaway” in which yet more guns were linked to criminals in Colombia, Honduras and Venezuela. According to ABC, “several of those weapons have already been found at crime scenes and in the hands of local cartels.”
Of course, we can cure this ill ourselves in November.

And I would bet that Benghazi had US weapons used in the attack as well. In 2011 Reuters reported that the US was helping out the rebels with weapons. Why stop in Latin America?
We’ve been supporting other countries causes for years (i.e., Iran/Contra; Muhajadeen fighters in Afghanistan (pre-Taliban during the Soviet occupation of that country) and Iraq during the Iran/Iraq War – all of the 80’s time frame). There are likely more, but those are the first few that come to mind. Not a surprise at all.
There’s a news item that Tice, the ex-Marine who became a freelance journalist and disappeared in August, is being held by the Syrian government, but nothing has been confirmed yet.
The part about ” 57 more F&F weapons that were linked to crimes in Mexico” was on WGN/Chicago last night and this morning.
I have to get back to my project. Later.
And the border is more secure than ever…riiight! I have a cousin with Pima County Sheriffs Dept and according to him they don’t even report gun shots fired anymore they’re so common place. Sheriff Joe did a work place raid and they got one guy who has been deported four (4) times!? Yep real secure borders.
“Sheriff Joe did a work place raid and they got one guy who has been deported four (4) times”. I saw that story on some news magazine on TV. It also seems that Sheriff Joe was accused of “profiling” locations in the same story. Hmmmm. It seems to me that if the Pima County S.O. is routinely clearing out illegal immigrants from stores/restraunts, that’s just good police work.
@4&5
Regarding profiling, I’m going to steal a bit from Dennis Miller.
That’s not profiling. That’s called being minimally observant.
USMCE8Ret2012: I do hope you aren’t suggesting Sheriff Joe Arpaio is from the People’s Republic of Pima County. He might consider Them fighting words! (Pima County is where Tucson is located and is one of the relatively few decidedly liberal parts of Arizona. Arpaio is sheriff of Maricopa County – where Phoenix is located.)
But but but we were just continuing a program from the bush era……
Yeah, my southern border is really secure. I live out here in Cochise County, theres been some rumbling from the locals as of late about taking out the trash down on the border. People are really tired of shit like this happening. Unfortunately we just lost Sheriff Dever to a single vehicle roll over so folks are concerned as to what the new sheriffs stance on illegals and policing the border regions is going to be.
Sheriff Joe may be a lot of things, not all good, but he gets results! Over the past few years Sheriff Joe has arrested hundreds of illegals and he’ll keep doing it even after the “dear leader” has instructed ICE to only prosecute illegals who have committed ‘serious’ crimes. I guess violating our sovereignty isn’t a serious crime. I guess stealing identities isn’t a serious crime. I guess costing the tax payers of America millions of $$$s isn’t a serious crime. I guess committing voter fraud isn’t a serious crime. I guess costing hospitals millions of $$$s by illegals using the ERs as their PCP isn’t a serious crime. I guess costing auto insurance companies and consumers millions of $$$s by driving around with fake drivers licenses and no insurance isn’t a serious crime.
Folks, everyone is talking about how we gotta make a change in November but unless you’re doing something to help, you’re just flapping your gums. I know not everyone has the luxury I have of being off work but you can all do something to help. I pledged to volunteer a minimum of eight hours a week to the Az GOP. Unless we all do our part, the “dear leader” will have another four years to complete the destruction of America.

Form your own border group with those you highly trust and practice the four S’s:
Supress, Shoot, Shovel, Silence.
Did I just say that? You didn’t hear it from me.
@ 9 ARoberts, I lived in Sierra Vista in the ’80s! My little girl was born down there. Even 30 years ago illegals were a problem. I remember ranchers in Hereford complaining about damage done to their properties. I’m afraid B Woodman is right, regular Joe’s are going to start taking border enforcement into their own hands since the “dear leader” is refusing to enforce our laws.
I have a friend from a long time ago who is a BP agent down there. My heart just skipped a beat. He wasn’t the one killed. I need to check in.
#10, I mailed my absentee ballot in on Monday to help out.
Two Soldiers were just asked in front of the Commissary if they voted yet and they said no. When asked if they wanted a ballot to mail in since they still have some time, they said No. There was quite a stack of ballots available.
Scary.
#14, I will be sending mine in soon. Unfortunatly my State’s whopping 3 electoral votes get counted second to last and the race is already decided by then.
