Given the amount of undeserved crap the current POTUS and his political allies have tried to dump on Bush, were I in his shoes there’s no way in hell I’d have ever gone to the White House while the current POTUS was still in office.

It is pretty telling (and true to form) that they both spoke about pretty much everyone other than themselves…unless making a self-deprecating joke.
One of my favorite stories is about former President George H. W. Bush’s sock choice for the ceremony .

But President “W” got in his licks — Fox television reported that President Bush remarked that (the current resident) must: “Lie awake nights, wondering — WHAT WOULD GEORGE DO ??”
Class is not inborn. It is taught. The Bushes behavior speaks volumes about the good qualities of their parents. As for the POTUS? No wonder his dad left him.
Dubya was right; we’d have to go back a long way to find two First Ladies as classy as Laura & Barbara Bush.
