Someone sent us this link early this morning about Governor Christie calling a former SEAL an “idiot”, so I did what I always do when I smell a phony SEAL. I sent the link to Captain Larry Bailey. He just responded a few minutes ago that William Brown is indeed a SEAL.
It wasn’t a story like you guys are accustomed, so I wasn’t going to mention it. But then I found out, from XBradTC in the comments that Ace of Spades had written about it and then I started getting email tips linking to Ace. I emailed Ace about what we learned from Captain Bailey, so there was no misunderstanding over there.
Then I didn’t want you guys to think I was ignoring the story and your tips, so there you have it. A little excitement on a slow news day.

Thanks for the update. It was kind of a weird moment. In the clip on AoS, Christie kind of looks like a dick.
I’d like to have seen what the dude was saying to Christie that got him so animated.

It says in the article that Brown was interrupting him repeatedly after Christie had listened to his point of view already.
Also says Brown was wearing an IAVA t-shirt and that he’s a failed local politician(D).
I’m a little curious how being a former SEAL has anything to do with not wanting the name of your university changed. But maybe I’m missing something.
SEALS can be idiots too. It’s their Constitutional right. Just look at Jesse Ventura.

William Brown was attempting to ask Christie about the proposed takeover of the Rutgers-Camden campus, eliminating local access to Rutgers, which is ranked 3rd Best Schools for Veterans. It is more than a name change, it is about local access for South Jersey veterans and all South Jersey citizens to Rutgers. Don’t see how Rutgers will stop providing access to South NJ, unless it prices itself out of the market. That said, no free pass for Christie either.
Brown is very active in local politics and the VFW in NJ, he is a legislative rep for the VFW. He’s also a grad of Rutgers Law School. He runs a group called veterans for education. His views slant towards the Paulesque and times and he is quite opinionated, it’s pretty easy to see how he would annoy Christie.

While I haven’t seen the exchange between them, Christie is known for telling people off-especially when he’s being/been interrupted.
Who cares? SEAL, Green Beret, Ranger etc…or leg, REMPF, cookie etc…. Again in this story… it is meaningless.
