TAH on BBC

This afternoon between 1 and 2 PM Eastern Time, I’ll be on BBC World discussing the Marines in the urination video with Troy Steward of Bouhammer’s Afghanistan Blog and You Served Radio along with some guests from Saudi Arabia and Afghanistan. BBC has promised to send me a link so you guys can listen in during your lunch (those are my lunch hours) and I’ll put the podcast up after it becomes available (about 3pm).

Any points you want me to hit, in case my steel trap mind hasn’t yet?

Added: The show will be at this link between 1 & 2 Eastern Time.

Added 2x: If you missed the show, the podcast will be here at about 3PM Eastern Time.

When they stop suicide bombing – http://www.ndtv.com/…death-toll-rises-to-65-in-taliban-suicide-attack-49644

One can go on and on about the crimes and savage things they do. No one wants to have a sit down and talk about the crimes they commit daily. Ask them why they did not have a sit down when the above items happened of the countless 100’s of other atrocities that they have committed. Hey so their forhead got a little wet, whats the big deal! – Besides..when ya got to go ya got to go.

  2. Here’s something, Jonn.

You might enquire why it is that a single, though regrettable video of US Marines allegedly pissing on dead Taliban can cause such an outcry, yet AQ and the Taliban have literally hundreds, if not thousands, of videos showing beheadings, forced amputations, and all sorts of terrorist activities on YouTube, with no outrage from our media, and no real effort to take those same videos down by YouTube, even though they violate both YouTube’s own terms of usage and US Law about providing aid to terrorist organizations.

  3. First off: ATTAboy Jonn! You DO have The Face for radio.

Secondly: The first two comments offer plenty of talking points if ya can get a word in.

Thirdly: If Troy links in CJ in A’stan wave at him for me.

I’ll be listening if my explicative satellite ISP and the weather cooperate.

  4. Someone needs to give me a play-by-play, the friggin Benning server is blocking the url.

  5. I’m listening, too, but they haven’t called me yet, so they might have decided Troy and I were too close to the same opinion and they’re going with him. We’ll see. It’s still a good show if you can listen in.

  6. The afghans keep talking about how the Marines have lowered ourselves to the level of the taliban, but I NEVER hear them coming out to make these statements at any other time other than situations like this……

    so f’em

  7. I guess they should be charged with something……thinking….Okay…Urinating in public!

  8. Well done, save saying to the Beeb that you would likely have laughed. I KNOW you didn’t get to finish the thought.

Again: ATTAboy… Makes me proud to know you and Troy.

    Just glad it wasn’t video.

  9. Some things I wanted to point out, but didn’t get the opportunity;

3/2 Marines have deployed to the GWOT almost every year since 2003 – yet they’ll be remembered by this one isolated incident.

3/2 Marines lost ten people in Afghanistan, including a Navy corpsman – yet they’ll be remembered by this one isolated incident.

3/2 Marines deployed to Haiti for earthquake relief in 2010 – yet they’ll be remembered by this one isolated incident.

  10. @18 – Unfortunately, that’s no different than nearly any other part of life. Ten good deeds are usually forgotten by one bad.
