I strongly suspect that is truer than people realize. I honestly think he’s suffering from some sort of stress induced break with reality. The paranioa, the self deceptions, lying, weight gain, and biopolar shifts of personality and writting style all make me think there is something seriously wrong with the guy.
And it makes me glad I stopped reading his dispatches after he wrote about the abrasion induced corona effect by sand and dust on helicopter rotors.
