For those of us over 50, I think us .mil guys can relate. Did a 14 month tour in Iraq before retirement. Not too sure what the next phrase will be, perhaps some variation of “it is what it is”. IMHO, same sentiment, different war.
Johnny had top spot in my son’s heart when he was a little guy growing up without his daddy. (Lost to cancer after a hard fought battle for two and half years after he came home from Vietnam. So yes, we get a little defensive about Johnny and June out here in fly over country.
