ABC News reports that the CIA developed information in the last day or so regarding this latest threat that news sources are all quoting. Their intelligence suggests that at least three Pakistanis, at least one of whom is an American citizen flew from the tribal areas of Pakistan through Dubai for the US. Their intention, apparently, is to detonate a car bomb in either DC or New York, possibly in a tunnel between September 10th-12th.
I know some of the tunnels in DC, at certain times of day, are packed with motorists and casualties could be easily in the hundreds from a single attack.

I really wish I knew what they were thinking. Tt appears that they don’t want us to leave the ME. Or do they want us fighting in Pakistan, too? If they do successfully cause mass casualties here again, I think our time-table to leave the ME is out the window.

Thankfully, from a preparation standpoint, the tangos are predictable in where they want to strike, although, they are awfully big target areas. I just hope they are as adept at making IEDs as the last few were (remember all the IEDs that were so poorly made that they didn’t go off).

That’s just what is worrisome. We can’t get lucky forever. If CIA sounded the alarm on this, they’re Pakistanis, and they came from the tribal regions to the US specifically to carry out an attack…what are the chances that they fumble?

I believe that the tunnels represent a place to sever transportation quite easily. I don’t know what it would take to bring the river into the tunnel. Pretty high loss of life if at rush hour, and would take a long time to repair or replace. Much easier to pull off than trying to blow the George Washington, or such.
