Mine came in about ’76 or ’77 as a shave-tailed yoot, when my older brother switched me from AM to FM on my bedroom radio on the threat of Oven Mitt Boxing if he ever heard the Hughes Corporation or Bay City Rollers coming out of my radio again.
to quote dennis hopper in Apocalypse: “And he MEANT it.”
Soon thereafter I was hooked on Zepplin Aerosmith and Deep Purple (but secretly kept my Beach Boys Endless Summer and Wings Over America LPs which I still have).
Mike D #3: Black Sabbath in ’70 I think. Until they came along I was into hard rock, but they defined metal to me.
