Honor killing in Michigan

SGT K sends this link from the Star Tribune about a Muslim honor killing in suburban Detroit;

Alfetlawi is accused of killing Jessica Mokdad Saturday afternoon in her grandmother’s home. Warren Police Lt. Michael Torey said “the biological father was letting her be a little more Americanized than what [the defendant] wanted.”

Alfetlawi confronted his stepdaughter at her grandmother’s home in Warren, where she was moving some things that had belonged to her great-grandmother. She was shot with a 9mm handgun and died at the scene, Torey said.

  1. Religion of peace…not representative of mainstream Muslims…blah blah blah…bullshit. Animals.

  2. The best quote from the story?

    “I’m glad we don’t have the death penalty here, because that would be too east…I want him to suffer.”

  3. As guilty as the rag’ed that did the deed is the whale that converted to the religion of shit and married the asswipe. And made her beautiful,free thinking daughter join too. The mother is pissed at the guy but still has her head in a bag. Don’t she see that it is the damned religion/cult that caused his thinking???????????

  4. What a terribly sad story. I don’t know if one can blame a religion, because religion is like any other idea that had been defined by words. But the misinterpretation or manipulation of any such thought (in particular one that’s meant to move and guide people toward a better life) is extremely dangerous, in particular when bestowed upon a person who wants to control others instead of help them. In this instance, the stepfather.

  5. #6 Anonymous,

    There’s zero misinterpretation. Islam permits murder in the name of familial honor. It is a time-honored practice, and this murder is one of many committed in the US.

  6. Islam is funny. You know its one of the few religions to contradict itself? The Qor’an is not chronological as the Torah and the Bible are, and it even says that later verses are the “correct” ones. But here’s the real kicker, when they finally decided to write this all down some 40 years after Mohamed’s death, there were something like 5 different versions, and actual warfare, to consolidate it. But here’s the real kicker. It is expected to be interpreted LITERALLY. Even the Catholic church admits (now) that creation taking six days is more metaphor than actually how it really went. So right from the outset you have a religion that CAN’T change with the times. Leads to this kind of shyte.
