Dave Thul of True North sent us link to his post about Daniel Fanning, an IVAW member, and an Al Franken staffer, who is contemplating a run at the Minnesota 8th Congressional District seat now occupied by Chip Cravaak, a Republican – the first Republican in that seat since 1947.

Fanning claims to be an actual Iraq veteran, as compared to most of the organization who haven’t set foot outside of the continental US. He testified at the Winter Soldier hearings in Silver Spring, MD in 2008 and here is his testimony;
He was just another whiny bitch private. In the same breath he complains that before their vehicles were armored, they had to ride with their weapons pointed out the window and that they had to indiscriminately return fire when when fired upon, but after they got the vehicle armor, they couldn’t return fire. he called that shameful – but what’s really shameful is a pussy who complains no matter what the policy is.
He also complains that he was forced to engage in bayonet training – his complaint was that there hadn’t been bayonet charges since the Korean War. A real soldier would know that training in all forms of combat might be useful one day, irrespective of the history of that particular skill.
Also, in his narrow private’s mind, Fanning thinks that the soldier who complained to Rumsfeld about the slow delivery of up-armored vehicles was responsible for the delivery of that equipment because the delivery came after the complaint. Maybe the delivery had already been scheduled and had nothing to do with the complaint – but not in the simple mind of a grousing private.
He claimed, back in 2008, that the military is broken making that statement based on his vast experience as a truckdriver private. Despite his evaluation, the military beat the insurgency in Irq and prevented a civil war, so I’m not sure what he means by “broken” since they’re still winning wars and kicking ass.
This is a sad statement about the Democrat Party when they can only attract broke-dick, whiny-ass privates to the party.
I guess that Fanning would have been pretty useless in helping the Argyll and Sutherland soldiers who did make a successful bayonet charge against superior numbers in Basra in 2004.

It is funny to hear a Pogue whine about Bayonets. For 18 months as an O/C-T I kept harping on being able to kill your enemy with whatever was available from Helmet to Bayonet and E tool to stomping if need be. All Combat Arms understood me, almost without fail Pogues turned white when I mentioned getting close and personal.
Did not know actual combat veterans joined IVAW. He will be a good and loyal tool of the party, not to his constituents.
Thank god he is up in northern MN and not down here. On second thought I wish he was running for the district here in MN where I live so I could call him out for his fallacies and his asinine jack wagon bullsheeit Private mindset.
Hey Pat; thanks for mentioning that. I was going to post about it, but I’m glad you beat me to it. It seems that someone with the vast knowledge that young Mr. Fanning has of the situation on warfighting, I figured he would have known about that. What kind of pussy complains about having to be trained to fight with a bayonet? Does he not think that there might be a time when he might even have to even fight hand to hand? Maybe he should have a talk with David Bellavia about all that?

I’m not a Ranger, but I’d defer to Ranger God & distinguished Wolfhound Lew Millett’s assesment on the usefulness of bayonet training to instill agression & boost physical fitness for combat troops.
Seriously doubt that Daniel Fvckning’s experiences and ribbon rack holds a candle to Millett’s by a long shot…
After Korea, Millett went to Ranger school and was cadre with the Ranger Training command… He and 2 or 3 other R.I.s during his tenure were MOH recipients. Must have been a rough time to have been a Ranger candidate!
Well now it would seem that the F’tard Fanning and his handlers don’t like people calling him for what he is on his pretty little Facebook page. I posted a comment about him and his association with the AWOL supporting IVAW and also informed his readers that I am a Minnesotan and also a veteran of OEF. Funny thing is when I checked it today to see if I had gotten the usual rhetorical response defending Fanning they had been removed and my ability to post had been taken away. S’ok because there is more than one way to skin a transplanted Chicago cat.

What’s interesting is the MN 8th district just elected a Navy pilot to replace a Democrat that had been in the seat since before I was born.

Dave I actually work in your town and live about down I-35 from you. I was actually in the same Infantry Battalion you most likely are in. I’m no longer with that Battalion or even the Red Bull anymore. I am now with the 84th TSC and just got back from an MOS Reclass to 92F.
