A Fox news article asks “Is the U.S. Arming Mexican Cartels?“. The answer seems to be that we are;
According to leaked diplomatic cables, there are three sources.
1. U.S. Defense Department shipments to Latin America, known and tracked by the U.S. State Department as “foreign military sales.”
2. Weapons ordered by the Mexican government, tracked by the State Department as “direct commercial sales.”
3. Aging, but plentiful arsenals of military weapon stores in Honduras, Guatemala and Nicaragua.
Even though these facts were well-known by the Obama administration, including Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and Attorney General Eric Holder, it blamed much of the violence in Mexico on U.S. gun stores.
Legal domestic gun sales always seem to be the target of this administration, despite the fact that they know better. Especially since apparently, the BATFE let weapons “walk” to Mexico as part of their investigations.
Deflecting blame is not the way to solve the problem.

The part that people need to pay attention to is the concerted effort by this administration, as well as the Mexican gummint, to paint gun sales and gun ownership as the reason why all the violence is happening in Mexico. They have told us that in order to curb the violence in Mexico, we have to give up one of our individual rights in this country, a right that most leftist don’t like us to have in the first place. Even in the face of overwhelming evidence that shows their statements and characterizations are false, they keep going after it. They do this for the benefit of the uninformed in hopes they can sway enough people to believe their bullshit so they can enact even more restrictive gun rules. That’s their end-game and they’re using Mexico as their excuse.
And by the time enough people figure out that 1–it was all bullshit, 2–violence in Mexico and near the border in particular ISN’T going down, it’ll be too late.
One other thing……In Mexico, the average citizen isn’t allowed to have weapons, especially military grade weapons, so how can this be happening that criminals are in possession of such weapons? That’s the argument we hear from the anti-gunners all the time here in the US is that if we ban certain weapons, then we are all safe!!
Yup, Mexican citizens are disarmed, yet the cartels have belt feed MGs, RPGs, Mortars and grenades…
Now if we ban guns in the United States, we’ll be able to keep them from being smuggled in from Mexico, like we do with drugs and illegal aliens… Ouch, my brain hurts from that pinch of anti-logic.
