Fox News reports that after the military called for an end to the protests in Egypt now that Mubarak has announced he won’t run for another term in office, anti- and pro- government protesters have faced off with rocks and sticks in the streets of Cairo;
By early afternoon, an Associated Press reporter saw Mubarak supporters break through a human chain of anti-government protesters trying to defend thousands gathered in Tahrir. They tore down banners denouncing the president and fistfights broke out as they advanced across the massive square in the heart of the capital. A number of those involved were injured and some were bleeding from their heads.
The same thing happens here in the comment threads. The longer they go on, the more violent they become.
Raise your hand if you didn’t see this coming.

Were the fires and looting of the museum not violent? Did they really think that this would end peacefully?
From what I’ve been reading, Egyptians DO NOT consider themselves Arab…
I’ve been hearing for the last week or so how peaceful these protests are. And then I tune into the television and see Egyptians beating people with large boards.
I think they’ve been somewhat violent since the beginning. It’s just another case of the media ignoring violence from people they like (the Egyptian protestors) while fabricating violence on the part of people they don’t like (the Tea Party)
Color me surprised. I’ve begun to wonder if anyone in that part of the world knows how to do ANYTHING peacefully.

And on a more light-hearted note, Anderson Cooper got the beatdown from a bunch of protestors, according to the Hollywood Reporter.
Yeah, and Christiane Amanpour got a verbal beatdown from a group that didn’t like her questions or her ideals.

CNN hires a mob to fake beat Cooper so they can take to the airwaves and blame the problems in the Middle East on anti-American sentiments ( Bush,Palin,Tea Party,etc.). Surprised I tell you. I am in total surprise that MSNBC wasn`t the first.
This is what happens when you turn food into fuel and expect others to pay the price. Entire regions go up in flames. Almost like it was planned that way.
