The 9th Circuit Court of Appeals struck down the Arizona law that required voters to prove that they are American citizens in order to vote according to the Associated Press.
Tuesday’s decision by a panel of the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals found that the law requiring voters to prove their citizenship while registering is inconsistent with the National Voter Registration Act. That federal law allows voters to fill out a mail-in card and swear they are citizens under penalty of perjury, but doesn’t require them to show proof as Arizona’s law does.
Since every state requires adults of voting age to have either a state driver’s license or picture ID, and require such a stringent layers of hoops to propel yourself through to prove you’re eligible for those, what’s the damn problem with using those to prove you’re eligible to vote.
The Left’s argument that it reminds them of the “poll taxes” of the the first half of the last century is just stupid. Since there are millions of criminals running around this country who aren’t eligible to vote and the government isn’t willing to round them up, someone should do something to insure they don’t pollute the results of our political process with their perverse sense of justice.

A local tv station here went and got a list of names of people who actually voted illegally in our last primary. From the segment you could ascertain that they were here legally, usually on a “green card”. When the reporter approached some of these people, they said they didn’t know that they couldn’t vote…they assumed that since they were here legally and were paying taxes, they had a right to vote and worse yet, no one bothered to stop them at the polls.
Our voting system in this country is broke. We need voter reform before anything else. If it doesn’t happen, and articles like this tell me it won’t, then I think we can just open the fucking doors and let anyone and everyone in and let them vote. No need to show you are actually a citizen with the right to vote. It’s all good.
These are criminal judges and should be removed from the bench for violation of their oath of office and assisting criminal acts.
…and yet they still can’t seem to let deployed troops vote. These fucknut assmunches aren’t worth the oxygen they steal from the rest of productive society. I bet if they found illegals weren’t getting a “fair shake” at the polls they’d postpone an election for ’em…soldiers, who cares…
Poll taxes? You mean the ones Democrats imposed to keep blacks from voting?
It ain’t called the 9th CIRCUS court of appeal for nuthin’.
We need to show I.D. to buy cigarettes, buy alcohol, open a bank account, apply for a passport… hell, a few months ago I was asked to show my I.D. in order to purchase a pizza with my credit card.
Yet, it’s ‘unconstitutional’ to require I.D. to vote? What an absolute joke.
There are times and places where identification is required, and that is necessary for order in society. Because of the critical nature of the right to vote, it should be an area where identification is always required.
I am greatly concerned with what is happening with voting right now. Voting IS power, and to attempt to control and contaminate that power is nothing less than a direct attack on our Nation and way of life. The fact that those attacks are coming from our elected officials and our judicial branch is enough to make me want to go build a bunker.
An ID should be required to vote. In order to keep people from voting more than once, they must go to the precinct they are assigned to and then prove they are who they say they are by showing identification. Yeah, I could see how it could be an attempt to control voting, but it is for a good reason….otherwise, anyone and everyone could just run around to every precinct in town and place as many votes as they’d like. Then what the hell is the point of even having a vote because the vote has been tainted.
And, in Nevada, the powers that be deemed it fit and right to let the SEIU service and control the voting machines and related software. Now, anecdotal stories surface that even when one touches the screen for Sharron Angle, you’ve actually voted for Harry Reid. Oh, and Rory Reid is a Clark County commissioner, and running for governor.
And the 9th Circus says that anyone can vote, as long as the NEA and SEIU and assorted unions can drag them to the polls. Or, get the ballot and vote for those who are too dead to do it themselves.
You know, Arizona just needs to tell the 9th Circuit to FUCK OFF and do it anyway. They further need to mobilize the AZ guard to monitor the polling places to prevent any Federal interference. This bullshit is getting out of hand. For those of you who think this is extreme, think again. The government in the form of the 9th Circus has once again chosen to protect the interest of a bunch of demcong leaning wetbacks over the rights of a legal and law abiding citizenry. This will not stop until we force it to by any means available.
I concur 100% with with everybody, but especially with USMC Steve. Arizona should tell the 9th quislings to shove it and then let the chips fall where they may.
The vote is absolutely = power.
The willful adulteration of the right of a Citizen to his/her vote is a violation of their Oath and has GOT to be a crime!
Sorry, Steve, do not concur. Ignoring checks and balances as set forth in the Constitution simply because we don’t like them makes us no better than the “living document” assholes. Jackson was the most famous example of pissing on the Constitution for his own purposes, although FDR came pretty close himself. We don’t like the judges, we replace them with those who more closely align with our philosophy. Elections have consequences, all that stuff.
What party were those guys again?
Yeah Sparky, cause Republicans NEVER piss on the Constitution? Republicans, Democrats….it doesn’t matter…..politicians in general don’t seem to give a damn about this country; they are more concerned with keeping their own pockets lined with money.
I have to say, I’ve been an election judge (the cranky chick with the list) down here in Hell for the past 6 years and we have always required identification in order to vote. Always.
I wasn’t aware that that’s not the case elsewhere.
Okay, anon–give me examples of Republicans within say, the last century or so, who have pissed on the Constitution with anywhere near the frequency or vigor of Wilson, LBJ, FDR, or Obama.
You cannot replace the judges on the 9th circuit. They are appointed and we have no say in the matter. They have absolutely no valid legal basis for their ruling but they continue to blatantly pursue their liberal agenda without regard for the real law of the land. What AZ did was perfectly legal, and I understand it was vetted by DOJ but cannot confirm that at this time. It is just one more example of extralegal interference by the Federal government in state matters they have no business being involved with.
You don’t have to agree, that is your right, but when the Government is acting in an extralegal manner it is the duty of those being oppressed to resist with all possible tools. Civil disobedience is deep seated in this country and they cannot put the whole state in jail. If it were my rights and my life on the line I would be much more aggressive than that.
