Kos & Co fail yesterday’s history test

I read this yesterday at Ace of Spades and figured it was too late to be of interest to you, but Old Trooper and, um, someone else wanted to talk about it today.

Our buddy Cuffy Miegs noticed a Twitter exchange yesterday between MarKos and some of his friends discussing what they thought was an historical gaffe from Sarah Palin when she told her folks at a rally not to party like it’s 1773 yet.

Well, it turns out that Palin, is obviously smarter than her detractors at least as far as historical dates go. I guess the Left thinks that all American history begins in 1776. Or January 20, 2009.

One of our other buddies, Michele Malkin reports that Gwen Ifill, that famously non-partisan moving face from NPR is weaseling out of her misreportage.

  1. Well lets see what else happened in the year 1773:

April 27 British Parliament passes Tea Act (Boston won’t like this)

December 16 Big tea party in Boston harbor-indians welcome (Boston Tea Party)

December 26 Expulsion of tea ships from Philadelphia

Now lets fast forward to this year, 2010:

March 20 TeaParty rallys in Washington against ObamaCare

March 21 Democrat Congress passes ObamaCare against the will of the people.

March 23 President Obama signs ObamaCare into law against the will of the people.

April 15 Tax Day Teaparty protest all over the US.

August 28 Nation rallies in Washington to restore Honor.

  2. Acck

I am new to this, so I misspelled a few items.

“Novemebr 2 Explusion of Democrats from Congress”
    Should read:
“November 2 Expulsion of Democrats from Congress”

    “Remember Novemeber!!”
    Should read:
    “Remember November!!”

I shall endeavor to improve! (but I make no promises)

  3. “Novemebr 2 Explusion of Democrats from Congress”
    Should read:
“November 2 Expulsion of Democrats from Congress”

You still missed it…should read “November Explosion of democrats…..”
