Department of War Investigating Sen. Mark Kelly for ‘Seditious’ Video Urging Military to Disobey Trump

The Department of War (DOW) has launched an investigation into Sen. Mark Kelly (D-AZ) that may lead to court-martial proceedings after “serious allegations of misconduct” were made against him.

Kelly, a retired U.S. Navy captain, has been facing accusations of “sedition” from President Donald Trump after participating in a video with other Democrats last week calling on military servicemembers and intelligence officials to “refuse illegal orders” from the administration.

In a statement posted to social media Monday, the DOW announced that it is aware of the severe accusations and has initiated a “thorough review” to determine further actions, which “may include recall to active duty for court-martial proceedings or administrative measures.”

“This matter will be handled in compliance with military law, ensuring due process and impartiality,” the department stated. “Further official comments will be limited, to preserve the integrity of the proceedings.”

      1. This POS was trying show how easy it was to get an AR-15 which said he would give to the police, in effect a ‘straw purchase’ which is an automatic disqualifier and the owner of the store denied the sale of the weapons to him. Yeah…pretty easy to get a weapon.

  4. As dickless and gutless as the video was, it wasn’t actually sedition IMO. I’ve seen official classes about the same topic over my lengthy service that were more spicy.

    The issue is more this particular message from these particular people. Their job isn’t to run the military or try to turn it into a political football gane that benefits no one. They do investigate legitimate complaints. If there is something to be done in that regard by all means attend to it. Otherwise stay away and let the military do its job.

    I just think it is odd that Trump, who is a Boss level troll, was so easily trolled by the left. He is normally a lot sharper than that.

I’ve wondered why, despite multiple oaths taken in the military to uphold and defend the Constitution (enlistment, re-enlistment, officer promotions) there is no training in the rules of engagement. Less than 10% of the military (and civilians, for that matter) could even explain three amendments to the Constitution, much less how to proceed in the event of a perceived need to defend it. That is the purpose of the Supreme Court and a few of them are confused by some of the fairly simple words used in it.

    2. The purpose of that video is to sow discord & chaos within the ranks and to get members to question ALL orders. Anybody think a 18-22 junior enlisted is going to catch the nuance of term “illegal orders”? Not when people all over social media are telling Guardsman that protecting lives and property is wrong. Some Specialist is going to refuse and expect ASSHOLES like The Seditious 6 to come to their defense. That prick Kelly is going to say refusing to stand guard a train station “…ain’t no My Lai”, so you’re on you’re own for that Article 15, 92, and 134. As with all political stunts, just imagine the melt down by all the talking heads if Republicans did this the The Auto-Pen’s Administration? These FUCKS know that the military members know NOT to follow illegal orders, but their reckless actions might put service members lives at risk. You think they care? How many times did The Auto-Pen & Dems go to Arlington to remember/honor the Abbey Gate 13? That’s all you need to know.

    1. Nah. The video clearly accused the Trump administration of issuing illegal orders, without specifying which orders were illegal.
      It was a blanket accusation, and therefore seditious.
