Weekend Open Thread

Remember when Former President Barack Obama tried to associate Kamala Harris with Blacks? He specifically addressed Black men and explained that Harris had their similar experiences. This year, the first Black president is going to Virginia to campaign on behalf of Abigail Spanberger against a candidate who has a chance of becoming Virginia’s first Black governor. This puts their “racist” and “misogynist” voter claims into perspective. Enjoy your weekend!

  1. Oh wise and all knowing Magic 8- Ball, will International Jet Setter Hack Stone continue his kind but benevolent dictatorship over his loyal subjects by scoring two consecutive First Comments in the Weekend Open Thread, or will be he tried in a kangaroo court and exiled to living in an abandoned Jaguar on the River Road off-ramp of I-495?i Magic 8-Ball says…

          1. Hack Stone wants it all. Tokyo, San Francisco, Washington DC, in the air on land sea.

Hack Stone was disappointed that they did not go forward with the acknowledgement that Hack suggested earlier this week. This Monday, October 27, is the 71st anniversary of the world premiere of the original Godzilla movie.

            1. And the 1977 hit from one of the greatest bands we had the opportunity to grow up and old with.
Godzilla, from Blue Oyster Cult from the Spectres album !!!
              Those truly were the days.

              1. Saw them in concert in Orlando in 1979 (or 1980) with Cheap Trick and Heart. They had a big “life size” mechanical Godzilla rise above the stage during that song.

      1. As soon as Hack cleared Customs, the Feds were waiting for him. It seems there is active investigation into the mysterious disappearance of Elaine Ricci, who has not been heard from in 11 years. Of course Hack cooperated, he told that the last time that he saw was shortly before Psul of The Ballsack asked Hack to help lift a heavy duty trash bag into the trunk of his 1980’s vintage Jaguar.

          1. Now that the Woke Left is okay with Palestinians being killed by Hamas instead of the IDF, they can all rally around bringing Elaine back home to us. Of course, that home was lost in one of Psul’s many bankruptcies, so we can bring her to the abandoned Jaguar.

    1. I was thinking they could use this at Golden Corral on Veteran’s Day; but, are those all single story buildings?

  2. Yesterday I met a man wearing a CIB on his vest; except, his “CIB” had a M-4 or a M-16 (I can’t remember which, I do know the difference) in place of the Springfield rifle.

Was it something new, or a novelty made as a souvenir, or, did I meet another phony?

    1. Now, if I were authorized the CIB I would wear that, only to see if anybody would notice.

      1. I wore a pair of shined black roper boots with dress blues to a formal military ball. Nobody noticed. A lot of also used to have dress shirts that were white in the front, collar, and cuffs, the sleeves and back were a floral Hawaiian print. A little rebellion is good for the soul.

        1. ‘back when medics wore whites; I used one of my work shirts whenever I had to wear the service dress with white shirt and bow tie. I had to stop doing that when they removed the top button from the shirt. After that I bought a mess dress because it was cheaper than the service dress. Then they changed the service dress so I retired. I think they changed the service dress because General McPeak got tired of looking like a 1950’s greyhound driver.

        2. Guy who used to be at our church had one of those shirts.
Got caught wearing it on duty when his CO had him in the office, and invited him to take off his coat. He politely declined, and the CO – trying to make him feel at ease? – insisted.
CO looked at him, shook his head, and got back to the business at hand.

    2. Whaaaaaaaat?! I’ve never wanted a thing so bad on Saturday, 25OCT25 in my life!

      Couldn’t find a M4 one but in the link [here] there’s a 60mm mortar and 240B (below).

  3. Fucking Obama…
Is there a bigger piece of shit floating in the Democrat toilet?

    My meme of the week…

      1. Marry a woman. Buy a house and furnish it. Put a nice pair of vehicles in the garage.

Watch it burn down to the foundation, while a judge whacks you in the nuts with a five iron.

        That’s divorce.

        1. You cheat, she gets the kids, the house and half your income; she cheats, she gets the kids, the house and half your income. Fore!

  4. Present. Taking a break, I am after losing my 1st streak to Hack.

Rats of the Cong to you, Hack btw.

    1. Everyone still remembers her Daddy getting blown by Monica Lewinsky, that and they took everything they could when they left the White House as well as the vandalism that greeted GW Bush and Company!

    2. The dumb witch is the one who is ignorant of the history of the White House. Let’s see, it was burnt down in the War of 1812, modified and added onto repeatedly, and completely gutted and rebuilt by Truman, but Trump can’t add the much needed ballroom. Well, I guess her daddy didn’t need much space for his highjinks, just the kneehole in the Resolute desk.

    1. I don’t think “entitled” is a strong enough word. What is she, some kind of sovereign citizen / masons rule the world type? Holy chit!

    2. Strongly suspect that glorified dentist is not gonna have a long service career. Love to see the results of the drug test. If she is the best the officer coops has, our guys (or at least their gums!) are in trouble.

    3. She fucketh herself very nicely, starting with 20+ MPH over the speed limit in a Construction Zone (Fines doubled if there are Workers present), another being clocked at 20+ over, then Resisting Officer Without Violence (ROWOV, more jail time) uhhm-yeah, that is NOT going to look good on her resume’! I wonder how she’ll get a Medical License after the Air farce jettisons her with that on her record?

  5. Here…blaming Baltimore traffic.
Friday Fuck All you fucking fuckers.
Oh and the VA reopened all my disabilities and I have 4 new C&P exams for all my stuff all over again with a new contractor.
    Lovely.
Maybe with any luck, this will be the end of all this type of thing.
Oh and I decided we should all petition SecWar and Trump and Congress, if you have to file with the VA for any kind of disability, the way the organization is currently, you should automatically get a 10% rating for having to deal with the VA, in and of itself.
Happy Furlough. (At least I’m forward funded and have gotten paid twice.) 😀

    1. Hack Stone just touched down in Baltimore, and the gate is not ready. Sitting on the tarmac for 5 plus minutes. If only we had someone amongst the band of scoundrels who knows how to get things done at BWI. Don’t they realize that the reigning First Commenter from TAH is on the plane?

    2. I have been saying, since 2013 (when I was sent to the psych ward at the MPLS VA) that if you want to be driven truly crazy…get sent to a VA Psych Ward!!!
The way to get CURED in a VA Psych Ward is to behave the way they want you to, make a few “Injun Wallets”, do some free style painting, play Monopoly with special squares that have “goals of treatment”, and let them know that you are oh so happy and content with the idea that you will be coming to GROUP therapy sessions for the next 6 weeks after you’re released to reinforce the cure you’ve received.

      1. They tried to “send” me once. I asked if it was my choice and they said yes but I could be placed on a 72 hour hold so I should go on my own.

Having read Catch-22 and a profound love for being threatened I told them to kiss my ass.

Fucking under no circumstances other than someone being a clear threat to themselves or others should anyone be subjected to “inpatient psychiatric ‘care'”.

        1. Yep. That’s how they got ME. 72 hour hold.
The folks at the Vets Home thought that I had actually made threats against the government in 2013 during that shutdown. Remember how they closed the WWII Memorial, the Lincoln Memorial, the Vietnam Memorial, Mount Vernon…and so on?
All I said was; “I’d like to go to Washington and blow those barricades apart”.
Hyperbole. Kind of like when you were a kid, and you got in trouble, and said; “I can’t go home now! My parents will KILL ME!”
Did your parents kill you? No. Did they mean it when they said they would? OF COURSE NOT!
Did I mean it when I said what I said? FUCKING NO!!!!

          1. That’s some shit right there.

Sorry you got stung for a legit complaint and reasonable statement.

  6. Imagine having that walking turd try to browbeat you…
    {gags}

I haven’t had a drink in 2 days and I can feel my heartbeat in my teeth. Is that bad?
Half kidding. Got sick with a sinus infection and stumbled after a small sake wine. I’m sure it was vertigo but I hate not being in control.

Hope everyone is well. Have a great weekend!

    “Prepare” — KoB (RIP)

    1. Curious question: is he more moslem than he is commie or is he more commie than he is moslem?

    2. That creep is gonna win, NY will be brought to its knees and beheaded — and STILL the voters will blame Trump and/or the GOP.

  7. Quick question: can we stop capitalizing black in posts? Or start capitalizing white.

Stop letting the loons manipulate language.

  8. It’s the old good news-bad news thing.

The good news is, I’m still here … the bad news is, “here” is still the hospital.

My heart is fine, I am told, but my lungs are not so much. Gotta find out what’s wrong and fix it.

Trivia resumes soon, my friends. Thank you for the prayers, good juju, and kind thoughts.

    1. if “prayers, good juju, and kind thoughts.” were enough, You, kind sir, and more here than I can mention in a single comment, would live forever.

    2. Sorry, had to work to late on Friday. Will try to have something ready for Halloween while you recover.

Get well soon – we are all pulling for you!

  9. I have a question
Does anyone on here know how to get a bio
On this officer on this box ??
Bought this 6 years ago in Cloudcroft, NM.
I’m going to post a few pictures of the box

        1. That’s about it for now. Haven’t find any actual pictures of him yet, despite the Archives having documentation of them.

          1. I’d like to donate this
do you know of any takers ???
where I got this there are 2 army post
in the vicinity. White Sands and Bliss
            ‘maybe a museum????

            1. I wish I did. In the annals of history, it seems that the “lowly” COL has been buried in time… just another field grade officer who served valorously in both WWII and Korea. I don’t know what, if any US Army units are at White Sands. Fort Bliss is the home of 1st Armor Division, but they served in Europe during the Second World War and weren’t in Korea. I would think that the 1st Cavalry Division would find a home for the chest, since COL Culley was the division’s Chief of Staff in Korea, but Fort Hood is over eight hours from you, and that thing would be expensive to ship.

It seems to be in good condition and would look nice as part of a museum display with a few officer’s effects–perhaps a mannequin in a uniform and equipment giving a “brief” prior to a major operation.

              1. I’ll keep looking, but I haven’t even found any descendants. Wife name was Harriet Josephine, nee Linn.

              2. I’m reaching out to some people I know on fort bliss… they helped me a few years back when
With a MOH and a few other awards I picked up
at the same place as the box. It’s a shame
This stuff ended up at a junk store in high rolls, Nm. But I’m not surprised. This area had a large
WW2 and Korean War vet population.
Alamogordo. Did but they have died off

            2. Huachuca museum is out. It’s going away. “Budget reducing” measure. Just like the band went away. And B Troop.

              1. It’s a shame, too. I think Stewart and 3ID got a new museum finally, at least they have a website. When I reported in 2012, we had a scavenger hunt of sorts to complete during reception. Later that same year, they closed the old WWII-era building, and the museum never reopened during my time there. Same with The Old Guard’s museum. Closed in 2008, but I believe its collection was transferred to Army Enterprise and there are no plans to reopen it.
