Leftist opens fire on Trump supporter’s property after taking Trump banner down

Benjamin Michael Campbell was described as driving 55 miles per hour down the road. However, when he saw a Trump banner on Mark Thomas’s property, Campbell came to a screeching halt, exited his vehicle, then walked to a Trump banner on one of the busses parked on private property. Partly standing on his toes, Campbell aggressively brought the banner down. Thomas fired warning shots into the air from an unseen location. Campbell responded by driving by the property and firing at the home side of the street.

From Daily Mail:

Thomas said that Campbell first caught his eye as he drove down his road at around 55 miles per hour before coming to a sudden, screeching halt.

The Republican homeowner said he checked his security cameras, and watched a man wearing an ‘Antifa-style mask’ emerge from his Jeep Cherokee to inspect a Trump banner attached to a bus parked on the Thomas family property.

‘He was driving along, saw the sign, slammed on his brakes, you know, had a political trigger moment, and he just had to tear the sign down,’ Thomas said.

‘He started reaching up on his tippy toes, trying to get to the edge of the sign. I just thought to myself, this is not happening. I don’t believe this.

‘I’m a Trump supporter. I have weapons for my protection and my enjoyment and I keep them handy.

‘You know, what good are they if you can’t get to them when you need them? So I reached over and grabbed my rifle.’

Thomas said he walked out to his porch while armed with the rifle, and fired two warning shots into the air from a spot where Campbell could ‘very clearly’ see him.

‘By this point, he had ripped the sign off, and he just whipped it up and then threw it down on the ground. Like he was proud of what he just did. I thought, Holy smokes,’ Thomas said.

The intruder returned to his Jeep, but instead of heeding Thomas’ warning and leaving, he circled back down his road while raising a gun through the sun roof and firing multiple times, video shows.

‘He fired five to six rounds as he was heading back down the driveway to the highway that passes in front of my place,’ Thomas told the Daily Mail.

‘I found one bullet hole in my refrigerator, which is on my porch.’ Thomas was standing on the porch at this point, and the bullet missed him by meters.

Referring to his surveillance footage of the incident, Thomas said: ‘You can see the dirt and grass flying up in the air and coming back down where bullets struck the front yard.

‘I heard: boom, tap, and another bullet hit something metallic. That one could have very easily come close to me. He was most definitely trying to kill me.’

  1. All of these people on both sides that are itching for a war have never fought in one.

The new wears off pretty quick in my experience.

      1. You can’t honestly say you want what you saw in Iraq to happen in this country. Or in the former Yugoslavia. Or any of the other places in the world where sectarian, partisan, or ethnic violence have torn countries apart.

        1. Interesting. I was thinking more about the parties in the conflict under discussion. The idea that neither were veterans.

I am curious since this subject was arrested on Sunday whether he was arrested before, during or after the protests?

          1. I’m not sure. Don’t get me wrong, I hate antifa as much as the next person, but I would rather we find a peaceful way to work through this. From my experience in Iraq and the former Yugoslavia in the 90’s, two decades of law enforcement dealing with more protests and riots than I care to think about, and my study of history over the years, I believe that once that genie is out of the bottle it’s not so easy to get her back in.

            1. Not Campbell, specifically the one that Animal posted that was making threats to run over and shoot left wing protestors.

He was arrested on Sunday but the time is unknown.

              1. My bad. Your original comment above appeared to be about Campbell, so I assumed your follow-up comment was about him as well.

  2. Warning shots are often a legal gray area that can be construed as deadly force. Luckily he had a video so they were able to figure it out.

The Accountant will be facing some serious time for his frenzied Atlanta gangster style use of a firearm. Some people just can’t leave other people alone and let them live the way they like, without hurting anyone. He is quite lucky he didn’t end up dead over his temper tantrum.

    1. In many jurisdictions, the home owner could be charged with the misdemeanor of discharging a firearm. But it appears he may be in a rural area where shooting on one’s own property is legal. In my city, a woman fired her pistol at a bank robber as he left the bank. She was charged with a misdemeanor and she just paid a $100 fine.

  3. He’s facing up to 17 years if convicted. Let’s hope he gets the book thrown at him (though I doubt it…)

    1. Indeed if you put the ammo into the first perpetrator it serves as a warning shot to the remaining perpetrators, if any, that they’re about to enter the find out portion of FAFO…

  4. Don’t know what the law is there. In Texas deadly force is ok to protect private property, but this would be a gray area about the banner.
If I were to fire a warning shot, it would be at the perp’s feet so I know where my rounds went. Or into his crotch – whatever.

      1. The homeowner did not shoot for the breadbasket because the trespasser did not provide their personal pronouns yet, and he did not want to waste ammo if there was no nutsack.

    1. Serendipity, you art a fine mistress!

Maybe she’s referring to Love Canal that was sullied by Hooker Chemical Company?
I’d help her ‘drill down’ those issues.

What I’m sayin’ here is I’d tetra her chlorides.
      I’d remediate her VOCs.

These are sex jokes, people! Goshhh.

        1. Congrats, I knew someone would post the punchline to that old prison joke. I first heard it about 30 years ago from a retired deputy sheriff.

    1. Looked like he was crying in one of his mugshots.

I’d say he has a lot to cry about. Shame what lack of maturity and self control does to leftists.

      1. Deckie, 11B-Mailclerk, rgr769, Devtun and Roh-Dog:

The New York Post called him a “Diminutive” accountant, said he had to stand on his tip toes to tear down the Trump sign and said he has a “short fuse” because his Mugshot has his height as 5’6″ …😆😅🤣😂.

        Yep, Benjamin Michael Campbell is definitely a Loser/Moron with a Napoleon Complex/Napoleon Syndrome/Short-Man Syndrome…😉

  5. Nothing to see here, keep moving, mostly peaceful protest…just trespassing on private property and ripping down a banner that is a form of free speech and then firing 6 rounds at the property owner. What’s wrong with that for crap sake?

  6. Since this moonbat is one of the commie cuttlefish’s fellow travelers, I am surprised they (we don’t know his pronouns) hasn’t given us his brilliant legal analysis.
