  1. Good late morning everyone. An update since I didn’t give a whole lot of that on my birthday: went out to a sushi place with my family and Fyrefighter on Friday. Food was good and I had a blast. Fyrefighter, thanks again for the mead!

Here’s some more history memes brought to you by some of the degens on reddit (don’t worry, picked the ones that weren’t cringe):

Also Germany during the war: What do you mean Italy is losing in Africa? What do you mean Japan attacked America? WHAT DO YOU MEAN THE USSR WON’T SURRENDER?!? WHAT DO MEAN ITALY DID?!?!?

            1. Context: 1st image is self explanatory lest you got an F in high school history. 2nd image: apparently the Brits had a tainted beef scare in 80s and 90s:

                  1. I didn’t have it, but anyone stationed in Europe at that time is on the Red Cross “no donation” list.

                1. I was checking out the Red Cross website a while ago and the prohibition for donating blood by persons who have spent time in Europe was lifted in 2020. I was in Germany in the early 90’s and I fell under that restriction for a while, I’m being told by the voices in my head that I can donate blood now. As they say, YMMV

      1. Well, there are conflicting stories about Constantine XI death.
I choose to believe the one in which he said, “Constantinople is fallen, yet I am still alive”, removed his imperial regalia, and dressed as a simple soldier, charged into the thickest of the battle.
Ottoman accounts say a huge Ottoman marine killed him without knowing who he was.
Memeh II didn’t get to hang him. He must have been pissed.

    1. Stalin, when Lenin’s wife delivered her late husband’s will to him(I want to take a peek at that):

    2. Obscure history fact: there was an attempted Sharia Islamist coup in the island countries of Trinidad and Tobago:

    1. You are entitled to your own opinions. However… when expressing those opinions starts to affect your bosses bottom line, you are no longer an asset, you are a liability. Don’t take it personally, it’s just business.
