Anti-ICE protest erupted in Los Angeles as ICE conducted raids

U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents conducted raids in several locations in Los Angeles, CA. In response, the mayor of Los Angeles condemned the raids and anti-ICE protesters showed up. The protesters reportedly threw items at the federal agents and defaced federal property. Lost Angeles Police eventually moved in and declared the protest an unlawful assembly. President Trump warned that if neither the mayor nor the governor do anything about it, additional federal assets including the National Guard will be deployed to the area.

From Reuters:

Early in the standoff, some protesters hurled chunks of broken concrete toward officers, and police responded by firing volleys of tear gas and pepper spray. Police also fired “flash-bang” concussion rounds. It was not clear whether there were any immediate arrests.

An LAPD spokesperson, Drake Madison, told Reuters that police on the scene had declared an unlawful assembly, meaning that those who failed to leave the area were subject to arrest.

Television news footage earlier in the day showed caravans of unmarked military-style vehicles and vans loaded with uniformed federal agents streaming through Los Angeles streets as part of the immigration enforcement operation.

U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents targeted several locations, including a Home Depot in the city’s Wetlake District, an apparel store in the Fashion District and a clothing warehouse in South Los Angeles, according to the Los Angeles City News Service (CNS).

CNS and other local media reported dozens of people were taken into custody during the raids, the latest in a series of such sweeps conducted in a number of cities as part of President Donald Trump’s extensive crackdown on illegal immigration.

The Republican president has vowed to arrest and deport undocumented migrants in record numbers.

The LAPD did not take part in the immigration enforcement action. It was deployed to quell civil unrest after crowds protesting the deportation raids spray-painted anti-ICE slogans on the walls of a federal court building and massed outside a nearby jail where some of the detainees were believed to be held.

    1. When a foreign army invades your country, they bring their flags with them. Every. Single. Time.

        1. ANTIFIA, BLM, LGBT, illegal aliens, etc., have been hijacked by Marxists/socialists, and are being weaponized as “mobs” to help “destroy the system”. Too many Democrat voters do not realize that as soon as the Democrat movers and shakers no longer need them, they will be vilified along with the rest of us. They do not realize that they are useful idiots.

          1. To be honest thebesig, antifa and blm weren’t hijacked, they were marxist from the beginning.. But otherwise, spot on.

            1. What I meant above is that where they once would’ve been doing their independent operations working towards different objectives (e.g. their names), they are now under a single umbrella led by movers and shakers who want to fundamentally change America (Marxist bent). They’ve been hijacked from their original intent, for example, women’s rights, civil rights, etc., towards a common objective.

      1. The conquerors have historically destroyed statues and other artifacts associated with the conquered nation. We have leftist extremists who want to destroy not just the Confederate statues, but statues of the founding fathers. They also want to destroy our history via distortion.

      1. “Amerikka”, code for “the capitalistic system”. Commissar, on another thread, erroneously claimed that Trump’s policies and our status as a superpower. He is colossally incorrect. It was conservative philosophy and actions that made us a superpower. Progressive ideology is like a cancer that has destroyed countries that implemented these ideologies. It is what Commissar advocates that would destroy us as a superpower.

        1. I wonder which of the individuals picked up in this raid Mr. Commissar would like living next door to his daughter, granddaughter, or wife. Heck – maybe he should just invite them in?

    1. Gavin shoulda deployed the guard much earlier. But, that would require him to actually give a shit.

    2. Federal district judge to rule that he can’t federalize the NG in 5…4…3…

      1. I’m kinda surprised one of them didn’t have an order pre printed, to be used at a time like this.

At some point, Trump needs to have one of these judges out front on point to quell the violence. Put up or shut up as it were.

    3. This is not the first time that the National Guard had to be federalized in response to a Democrat governor refusing to do what is right for the citizens of their state.

  1. Seems like I remember reading somewhere that “assault on a federal officer” was a felony crime. Maybe if the officers used something besides “…less than lethal force” weapons it may make some of these idjits realize the error of their ways.

Commienfornia be damned. It is in The Constitution of these States United that it is the responsiblity of the Federal Government “…to provide for the common defense…”.

“From the Halls of Montezuma, to the riots of LA Town…”

  2. There is a reason this is happening and framing it as purely partisan is missing the point of what is happening.

Immigration raids and deportations have been going on for more than 100 years in Souther California, It is literally part of the culture of LA Area and referenced both dramatically comedically in movies and TV going back to the 70s..

These raids were not partisan. Obama was even called the “Deporter in Chief” because he deported far more people than any other president.

What changed under Trump is the raids are no longer being carried out according to federal law, the constitution, or international law.

Trump deported over 250 people to a Salvadoran prison camp without any legal due process. 70% had never been convicted of a crime and 90% never convicted of a violent crime. They were imprisoned entirely for having tattoos. Including one with an Autism awareness tattoo, and a professional soccer player that had his team logo.

238 of these imprisoned deportees were not from El Salvador. Which makes their deportation and imprisonment a literally international crime against humanity.

Stephen Miller, who is behind all this, has publicly claimed the president can suspend due process, and the president does not have to follow the law or honor the courts in acting on his “executive authority” to deport people.

Trump and Stephen Miller have publicly made statements regarding the president’s authority to deport American citizens and send them to foreign prison camps. And Trump is fighting in court for the right to revoke the citizenship of natural born citizens.

Due process is how you prove you are an American and how you prove you are her legally. Miller is trying to strip Americans of their right to due process, and their citizenship.

‘When they came for the immigrants I didn’t speak up because I wasn’t an immigrant…’

This is the time to be standing against what the administration is unlawfully doing.

    1. “Obama was even called the “Deporter in Chief” because he deported far more people than any other president.”

Blatant lie. Obama changed the scoring system. Any illegal alien who returned to Mexico while being pursued by CBP was scored as a “deportation” instead of a “turnaround”, artificially inflating the statistics.

“Trump deported over 250 people to a Salvadoran prison camp without any legal due process. 70% had never been convicted of a crime and 90% never convicted of a violent crime.”

Lie. The only crime necessary for deportation is illegal entry into the USA. Doesn’t require indictment or conviction in criminal court.

You are against sending gang members home to face justice in their country of origin?

Nobody “came for the immigrants”. Immigrants are welcome. People who sneak into the country are not. They are not immigrants. They are illegal aliens, invaders, just as surely as you are a fraud.

      1. Obama changed the scoring system. Any illegal alien who returned to Mexico while being pursued by CBP was scored as a “deportation” instead of a “turnaround”, artificially inflating the statistics.

        Roger that!

Next we should do a dive into the FBI crime stats…

    2. You are good at trying to incite others but when it comes down to it you will never put on your bicycle helmet, grab a cut up plastic barrel and start chucking rocks and maltovs at law enforcement. You are a coward, just like your hero Che, crying like a little girl when it all ended. Your butt buddy Kilmar was NEVER an American citizen, ever. You go on and on about AMERICANS losing rights, I keep seeing ILLEGALS being rounded up. Go hang out on Reddit with your wannabe friends, the people here are pretty much tired of your Schlick.

        1. I seem to recall there was this really bad (according to the MSM) “insurrection” on January 6, 2021. But I guess what is going down in LA isn’t an insurrection cuz it is quite different since there are people throwing rocks and bricks at cops, burning cars, blocking freeways, and looting stores. So, none of that is like what happened in DC on J6, where there were no fires, looting, property destruction (except for a couple of broken windows), no grafitti, no mobs calling for killing ICE agents, and no mobs waiving foreign flags blocking freeways. So, I can clearly see LA is quite different and a more “peaceful” protest, and not an insurrection.

    3. When the came for the human smuggler wife beating MS-13 gang member, I stood up because it got me airtime on the networks. I did not bother standing up for the murder victims of illegal immigrants in Maryland because they won’t vote for me.

      Senator Chris Van Hollen

        1. You know Lars doesn’t give a flying fork for innocent women.
          They don’t fit The Narrative.

            1. There was his former female Chinese girlfriend.

I still wonder if she was an operative of the ChiComs.

              1. You forgot the quotes…”girlfriend”… Imaginary or trans would be my guesses..

    4. The Legal Scholar known as Der Commie-czar will now educate us on the Consti-errrr-Democrat points. Troll on, honey…

    5. When they came for the immigrants I didn’t speak up because I wasn’t an immigrant…’

These migrants don’t need anyone to speak for them. Their first act was breaking the immigration and naturalization laws of the most welcoming country on the face of this fucking planet, period.

Because the violation is administrative by the act itself the due process afforded them is administrative removal.

America voted for just this very thing, a majority in fact!
      Ain’t democracy awesome!!!!!!!

I’m not a big fan of centralized authority or violence against non-eliciting actors but 11 times out of 10 paraphrasing Niemöller to craft a narrative is gonna get a big “oh, fuck you!” from me, so that.

    6. First, the President can (and has) suspend due process. Second, you must be a US Citizen for the Constitution to take effect. Third, International Law can go pound sand. Fourth, no American citizen has be deported. Finally, Due Process is not how you “prove you are here legally”, it is there to ensure rights under the Fifth and 14th Amendment are guarded, which, as illegals are not citizens of this country, are not entitled to be granted.

  3. Also, just to be clear, these protests were not the violent chaos they are being framed as by the right.

When you have protests in 5 different locations involving a few thousand people you are going to have a few jackasses trying to escalate. Throwing rocks, setting fire to a car and a shopping cart etc.

But the reality is these protests didn’t even result in shutting down traffic. All through these protests ordinary traffic flowed through the protest areas.

The right is trying to frame this as a lawless insurrection to justify escalation and putting troops on the streets.

If the administration gets into the habit of responding to relatively small scale protests with troops it will eventually force a cycle of escalation.

We now Trump has expressed a desire to “shoot protestors in the legs” in the past. And has repeatedly expressed hostility towards those that protest or oppose him…so he wants violence against protests. So does Stephen Miller.

Fortunately, the California National Guard are not exactly Trump loyalists or even Trump supporters overall. So this test run of troops on the streets is less likely to trigger an escalation.

What I worry about is a state like Oregon. Where the rural areas are some of the most far right in the country, while Portland is the most far left.

Putting the Oregon National Guard on the streets of Portland would be a powder keg.

      1. Commissar always wants violence. Committed by others. His ass will never cash the checks his mouth writes.

    1. When you have protests in 5 different locations involving a few thousand people you are going to have a few jackasses trying to escalate. Throwing rocks, setting fire to a car and a shopping cart etc.”
Last time I checked it was still illegal for people to assemble and to throw rocks at other people, and to set fire to other people’s property.
“The actions of the mob reflect upon the entirety of the mob, and as a result the entire mob becomes guilty of the misbehavior of the mob.” [Warren on Homicide].
It is also still a crime to interfere with a police officer when he is engaged in his lawful duties. If you have a grievance against his actions you may bring it to a court of law for resolution, but placing hands on that officer while in performance of his duties constitutes either interference with legal process, or assault on a police officer.
These “protests” are more theater than they are legitimate grievance against government actions. As such they don’t deserve the same dignity.

      1. Funny how all these “protest” all seem to happen on the same day, with the same cast of characters, who all seem to be armed as it were with the same shit.

Odd I tell you. What are the chances 🤔

        1. I’ve noticed that locally as well when the local (D)emon-rat liberal professors & their ilk have tried a protest.
          Coordinated effort.
When I called LEO on the group holding an “8647” sign, the next scheduled protest turned up a lot fewer participants, and they gave up after 20-30 minutes because nobody was helping or paying attention.

I didn’t even need bail money.

        2. You mean the pre-printed soros-signs, and conveniently delivered pallets of bricks and dump trucks of river rock?

          1. Yeah. Those mysterious deliveries. Funny how the delivery drivers continue to deliver when there is no obvious work being done or started.

    2. …say what? Take your Soros/Dems talking points and stick them where the sun doesn’t shine.

    3. Hey Major Moonbat, did you ever notice that these mass hissy fits ONLY take place in deep blue locations? That’s because those useful idiots would get their asses handed to them in a used pizza box anywhere in Red State America, with LEO’s being the least of their worries. The BLM/antifa fleabags quickly found that out when they decided to infest Cour D’Alene Idaho and Tulsa Oklahoma. As for my locale, it’s deep in Red State USA where nearly everyone owns guns and plenty of neighbors own excavation machinery, they’d never find what’s left of the little brainwashed maggots!

      1. They have realized that in red state rural towns, the only people who show up for their “event” are ones who will kick their asses.

    4. You just advocated open refusal to follow a lawful order given by a superior, in this case, the commander in chief. “Test run”, you say. Your sidesaddle governor and progressive mayors with sanctuary city policies own 100% of this. California is a victim of its own making. Sympathy level zero, no fucks given. You live in a failed state, enjoy it.

      1. Definitely sounds like treason to me.. Commissar never misses a chance to shit all over his oath, because ” orange man bad”..

    5. Looking at the videos coming out of the cesspool, I believe that over your platitudes Lars.

  4. Tear gas
    Pepper spray
Next step up, live ammo, any caliber, from 22LR and up

Excellent time to do live fire weapon zeroing and target practice.

    1. Time to bring Kyle Rittenhouse back into the game. Imagine how much more effective he would be with backup.

  5. If only there were words describing the actions of foreign nationals in-country illegally, rioting in the streets, displaying their foreign flags and attacking members of the US government. Whatever may those words be..

50 USC 21 Restraint, Regulation, and Removal

Whenever there is a declared war between the United States and any foreign nation or government, or any invasion or predatory incursion is perpetrated, attempted, or threatened against the territory of the United States by any foreign nation or government, and the President makes public proclamation of the event, all natives, citizens, denizens, or subjects of the hostile nation or government, being of the age of fourteen years and upward, who shall be within the United States and not actually naturalized, shall be liable to be apprehended, restrained, secured, and removed as alien enemies. The President is authorized in any such event, by his proclamation thereof, or other public act, to direct the conduct to be observed on the part of the United States, toward the aliens who become so liable; the manner and degree of the restraint to which they shall be subject and in what cases, and upon what security their residence shall be permitted, and to provide for the removal of those who, not being permitted to reside within the United States, refuse or neglect to depart therefrom; and to establish any other regulations which are found necessary in the premises and for the public safety.

    1. …the manner and degree of the restraint to which they shall be subject and in what cases…

      So, anything goes? Nice.

Sounds like the CiC needs to call up the Militia and restore full 2nd Amendment rights to the citizenry*, open up the armsrooms and give the tax payer back his property, let this whole thing get sorted out in 30 days.

*which shouldn’t ever need happening, to the gnashing of many box wine-stained teeth

    2. Do not confuse our resident commie coward with actual laws, the law is what his handlers tell him it is.

    1. Newsom should have the statehouse draw up articles of secession.

      This timeline is litty af

  6. Wait, I’m confused. Is it pride month or riot season? What decorations do I put out. I don’t even know how to dress the scarecrow.

    1. Naw, I just had fried yardbird and am full.
Washing it down with a Shiner Bock.

  7. Have y’all seen the pics with the paid protesters are waving Palistinian flags?

    Lars must be ecstatic.

    1. He’ll be showing those pics and videos at his next weekly Pantifa circle jerk.
