OK, so here is the point, our anonymous CO is not charged with anything. So how can Branum solicit donations for a legal defense, when no legal defense is needed? I mean, putting aside the obvious that the military would supply you with legal representation if you were in need of defense anyway. But, does it not violate ethical standards in Oklahoma to raise funds under a false pretense?
Just for shits and giggles, here is the Oklahoma Bar Association complaint form. But I would like a lawyer to advise (or “advice”) if this violates legal ethics, since I don’t know much about that.

Well, my understanding of Hart is that he volunteered to go back unarmed. Now, I have no way of verifying that or anything, but he seemed a reasonable enough chap. Granted, I am basing that on like a 3 minute convo at best, so am amenable to other viewpoints, but I did share some emails with him once, and he does seem to be an actual CO based on *actual* religious convictions, and not off made up religious convictions.

You know, it occurs to me that if Branum was even a moderately capable lawyer, he would have told Anonymous dumbass here not to discuss Iraq. He keeps saying over and over how he opposes Iraq and loved the people etc. But, a CO claimant has to prove that he is opposed to ALL WARS. Repeatedly referencing just Iraq completely undermines his CO application. For starters Branum, you might want to read Gillette v. United States. At least the case notes on it.
