The Army as a big stupid Drama Queen

The Army is really getting on my nerves these days. Take for example the report presented to the media today about the Hasan murders at Fort Hood by mega-moron and drama queen Togo West;

As many as eight Army officers could face discipline for failing to do anything when the alleged shooter in the Fort Hood rampage displayed erratic behavior early in his military career, two officials familiar with the case said, speaking on condition of anonymity before the report’s release.

Notice that Hasan is still an “alleged shooter” but eight Army officers are going to be disciplined for not doing anything about him. Does anyone really believe that after these Army officers are disciplined, pogues will stop covering for each other? Does anyone think that commanders won’t discipline, fire, or otherwise punish any Muslim subordinate for acting like Hasan?

Like does anyone think that LTC James Billings will be punished? LTC James Billings was that “Army Officer” character who threatened to blow in the team at TAH for posting Hasan’s ORB. Why should Billings be punished? Well, he posted a comment here anonymously and current Army policy dictates that Army officers “own” their comments by not hiding behind a screen name – especially when conducting Army business. He threatened to call the CID on us if we didn’t take down the ORB (not realizing that it had been copied hundreds of times already)…and then he did. That’s Army business.

Billings is a serious pogue. His AKO profile lists his assignment to Fort Benning during Desert Storm as a “deployment”. I hear the SCUDS were hitting Fort Benning daily. Billings is a PAO officer currently assigned to the Pentagon (surprise!) who thinks the rules don’t apply to him…but he’d come down like a ton of bricks on some poor private using a screen name, I’ll bet you.

I’m not in the Army anymore, and I’ve never wanted to stomp a mudhole in an O-5’s ass like I want to stomp one in Billings’ ass. Drama queen pogue.

More drama queen shit? How about this article (it’s a very one sided report, but it sounds too true) from Army Times;

An Illinois National Guard soldier in Afghanistan has been charged by the Army with possessing child pornography over pictures of a young relative his mother says she sent him.

Terri Miller of Galesburg says she sent her son, Spc. Billy Miller, pictures of the little girl to help him get over his homesickness.

The pictures show the child in a swimsuit playing a wading pool and sitting on a truck. In one, the girl is wearing a swim suit and part of her buttocks are exposed.

The Army says Miller will stay in Afghanistan until his court-martial. His unit came home last August. Miller faces jail time, if convicted.

Terri Miller says the pictures are innocent. She says her son is close to the girl.

There’s more of this WTF? story at the Chicago Sun-Times.

  1. I just deleted what I was going to say, because I’m too pissed off to really comment effectively.

  2. What we need is more brain dead PC democrats in the military. They might keep up with the brain dead PC democrats in D.C. and the pentagon.
Face it, a terrorists didn’t kill the 13, PC democrats did.

  3. LTC James Billings is an example of the command environment that caused this Hasan clown to continue in the service.

But, the people that foster this command environment will make it a point to discipline the 8 that had direct contact with this assclown. They will, however, continue and punch their ticket and get more important jobs.

  4. Stomp away, I’ll sell tickets and give the proceeds to an appropriate group.

The second item is a bit more troublesome. My apologies for the following mini-rant.

Up front… let me be clear, any person that sexually abuses a child should be castrated with a dull blade (I’ll volunteer to wield the blade) and THEN put in prison with lifers.

But, there are several stories every year where someone’s life has been ruined with this sort of thing.

I see it as symptomatic of the pervasive PC world view. I saw an article recently about the recidivism among pedophiles (can’t find it now), and it wasn’t pretty.

BTW, I think we have a B&W picture around here somewhere of The Wife and her sister naked in a wash tub. The picture IS over 50 years old. Does that mean…

  5. Our SgtMaj wanted us to do field day every week when I was in Iraq. For that, and eating all our fucking care package candy, he got a Bronze Star. lol

I still wish I would have bought one of those “We went to war and garrison broke out” t-shirts.

Charging a soldier with child porn for having a picture of a relative in a swimming pool is beyond retarded.

  6. Once again, we have prima facia evidence that the military has switched from warfare to lawfare.

WE need to get some sort of regulation in place that says that no officer may become a JAG officer without having first served at least 5 years in a Combat-Arms branch, in a non-JAG billet.

  7. As I have made abundantly clear in the past, which is re-affirmed by BNG: I hate fucking ticket punchin pussies.

  8. I have a hard time taking a SNCO or field grade officer in the Army or Marine Corps seriously who hasn’t deployed. The war has been on eight plus years now, don’t you think it is time to get in it LTC Billings? In the Marine Corps that is what is supposed to be two fleet rotations (usually two or three deployments per) and a non-deployable billet (which sometimes turn deployable). Yet that there are still SNCOs and officers who are hiding at places like Quantico, the recruit depots, recruiting billets, and Okinawa/Japan.

Another thing is fair that these fleet-dodgers get promoted at a rate faster than NCOs that have done three or four combat deployments?

  9. I’m speechless…….totally speechless….

When you get done stomping a mudhole in his ass can I walk it dry?

  10. “Drama queen pogue”, well said, Jonn. A perfect description of a Blue Falcon. By the by, will you sell tickets to the mudhole stomping?

When MY Army REALLY PISSES ME OFF: Hasan’s former commander let him continue because “he would not be doing any real patient care.”
    ,
The next time the leadership of the US Military is looking around, scratching their collective asses, trying to figure out why so few, relatively speaking, seek mental health help for their trauma and PTSD, they might want to look hard at this quote:

One of Hasan’s commanding officers at Walter Reed Army Medical Center, Lieutenant Colonel Melanie Guerrero, told investigators she had considered failing him as an intern but “decided to allow him to pass since he was going into psychiatry and would not be doing any real patient care.”

If I could wave my magic wand, LTC Guerrero would immediately be reassigned to a Manila whorehouse, treating syphilitics where she so obviously belongs. But I would not let her within 5 miles of anyone serving in the military today.

This sorry bitch needs to be relieved IMMEDIATELY, and then she needs to both be kicked out, AND required to repay the Army (meaning us taxpayers) for all of the money we WASTED in training HER dumb ass and promoting HER idiotic efforts to the rank of Lieutenant Colonel.

This issue is even seperate from the stupidity of just passing someone, not because they deserved it, BUT BECAUSE THIS MORON DIDN’T THINK THEY’D BE PRACTICING REAL MEDICINE.

Here’s the article. Read it for yourself.

Hasan Was Worried About Results of Recent HIV Test
Investigators Also Find Accused Fort Hood Shooter Sent $30,000 a Year Overseas to Islamic “Charities”

    Nov. 19, 2009

Major Nidal Hasan seemed worried about the results of an HIV blood test taken a week before the Fort Hood shooting rampage, according to federal investigators piecing together background details on Hasan’s life.

Photo: Seven Soldiers Killed, 20 Wounded in Fort Hood Shooting: One Suspect in Custody, Search Is on for Second Shooter

The suspected gunman in the massacre at Fort Hood, Texas, Nov. 5, 2009, was identified by ABC News as Army Maj. Nidal Malik Hasan. He appears here in a Defense Department photograph.

    (Handout)

The information came from a member of the Fort Hood medical staff who was in the building where Hasan is accused of opening fire on November 5 and killing 13 people.

The investigators said there was no indication that Hasan was HIV positive, although a bottle of medicine used to treat HIV-positive individuals, Combivir, was seen in Hasan’s apartment by ABC News last week. Medical experts say many doctors also have Combivir on hand in case of an accidental needle stick. A second drug seen in the apartment, clarithromycin, is an antibiotic designed to treat respiratory infections. However, it can also be used to treat specific opportunistic infections in patients with HIV.

Hasan, who is not married, was a regular at a Killeen, Texas strip club which features nude dancers, according to employees there.

Investigators also found that Hasan donated $20,000 to $30,000 a year to overseas Islamic “charities.” As an Army major, his yearly salary, including housing and food allowances, was approximately $92,000. A number of Islamic charities have been identified by U.S. authorities as conduits to terror groups.

Investigators said Hasan followed his own strict interpretation of how a Muslim should live — including driving without auto insurance or signing up for life insurance provided through the military.

His academic record is replete with serious concerns about his religious statements and his academic abilities, the investigators found.

One of Hasan’s commanding officers at Walter Reed Army Medical Center, Lieutenant Colonel Melanie Guerrero, told investigators she had considered failing him as an intern but “decided to allow him to pass since he was going into psychiatry and would not be doing any real patient care.”

Guerrero told ABC News his performance problems stemmed from his lack of competence in the intensive care unit, including problems with recommending the proper medications or coming up with the right kind of patient treatment plan.

This is separate from the stupidity of passing anyone not supremely qualified to treat our military members.

How the hell can ANYONE serving in the military have ANY confidence in ANY of these morons after this?

Unfortunately, I haven’t been able to find a reliably identified picture of the woman in question, one Lt. Col Melanie Guerrero, MD but her info is easy enough to find.

So, yeah… when it comes down to it, I would, in fact, fire this idiot before she harms anyone else, let alone “real patients.”

  12. “I have a hard time taking a SNCO or field grade officer in the Army or Marine Corps seriously who hasn’t deployed.”

I hear ya,Operator Dan, most of us Guard folks have 2 tours these days & we’ve had a slew of Joint Force Headquarters & Recruiters volunteer & serve on ETTs and OMLTs to Ghanny-land!

  13. “In the Marine Corps that is what is supposed to be two fleet rotations (usually two or three deployments per) and a non-deployable billet (which sometimes turn deployable). Yet that there are still SNCOs and officers who are hiding at places like Quantico, the recruit depots, recruiting billets, and Okinawa/Japan.”

That is what I couldn’t stand about recruiting duty. I spent 4 fucking years either in training or deployed to a combat zone, and all of a sudden I had fleet dodging SNCO’s who hadn’t seen the fleet in the better part of a decade telling me I was a worthless shit Sgt because I couldn’t write three contracts every month.

    Glorified welfare…

  14. Reminds me of the career recruiters we had when I was still in–my last duty station was Nuclear Field Recruiter for an NRD which shall remain nameless somewhere between San Francisco and San Diego. CRF–Can’t Remember Fleet. I had one Chief Recruiter with 22 years in who hadn’t even been to SD, let alone underway, since he was a JUNIOR E-5 some 16 years prior.

  15. Maybe I was lucky, but the medical personnel I dealt with were top shelf. Of course, we had a flight surgeon assigned to our unit, along with several medics, and they were the shit. I trusted them completely and were, and I may be biased in my opinion, the best I have ever been around.

As for our unit, in general, there was no room for slack-offs, period, and that started with our leadership and filtered down to the rest of us. They either pulled it together, or they were launched out the door, it was that simple. We didn’t have females, being a combat unit, so there was no need for PC bullshit and to this day, if I were to hear top’s voice holler, I probably would snap to out of reflex.

  16. LTC Melanie Guerrero’s reason for questionably passing Hasan when he was an intern points to her incompetence as a military medical officer and supervisor. It is also telling that as a supposedly intelligent physician, she would not consider the practice of psychiatry doing “real patient care.” Give me a break! My guess is she thinks if you don’t cut on a patient you can’t hurt them. LTC Guerrero projects a poor image of herself and brings to light the fact that she is not prepared to supervise anyone. Her poor judgement and lackadaisical attitude points to her lack of character and honesty as well – and this generally carries over into ALL aspects of ones life. LTC Guerrero is a poor example of a military officer and a phyisician who’s duty it is to help and protect people. i.e. the oath – first do no harm. I’m afraid LTC Guerrero’s actions, or lack of, has done a tremendous amount of harm. She should be held accountable for admittedly passing Hasan as an intern when according to her own words, he had performance problems and a lack of competence. Now there’s the pot calling the kettle black! Perhaps LTC Guerrero, you should take a long hard look at your professional and personal decisions…their affects can be longlasting and devestating to many.
