This week, the week of Thanksgiving, presents  three open threads. If you missed “first” for today’s MOT, there’s still the HOT and WOT contests in the next two days. If you’re traveling today, be safe. If you must work tomorrow, thanks in advance for the work that you do. Many here and elsewhere appreciate your sacrifice. Enjoy the holiday weekend!

    2. Nothing like being in the right place at the right time, SgtM. Maybe your benevolence will bring the Luck to be in the same postion for The HOT that will drop tomorrow, and then The WOT that will show up Friday, thus giving you a Trifecta of FIRSTs, threepete, back to back to back in a week.

      We’ll have to check with The Claw Daddy to see if that has been a FIRST.

  2. A shout out to all who contributed to the National Capital Region Salvation Army this Thanksgiving holiday. Your $5 contribution to provide a Thanksgiving dinner to those less fortunate among us, particularly those former All Points Logistics employees from the Reston Virginia office. And remember, if you’re cold, they’re cold, so be sure to leave your shed door unlocked to provide adequate shelter to any homeless Vice Presidents of proud but humble woman owned businesses in your neighborhood.

    1. I threw in a couple of extra bucks to maybe pay for a mailbox door, or to get their Jaguar running again.

      1. No need for a mailbox door, it’s not as if Mr. Postman will be delivery any software orders from the federal government. Besides, if you don’t have a home, do you really need a mailbox? Psul is so Lonesome that he Pines for a place to call home. (IYKYK)

    We have so much to be thankful for.
    Our Constitution has been attacked, but still stands.
    Our Freedoms seem to be safer than they have in years.
    Our Government may be improved by 47.
    We have freedom to worship God each in our own way, still.
    We have the freedom to protect our loved ones from those who would harm them.
    We still have the best Country in the world.
    We have our loved ones with us – even if only in bittersweet memory.

    1. Absolutely fucking INEXCUSABLE, the Federal Government is taking better care of ILLEGAL ALIENS than its own Military Members.

      I’ve said before, the meal halls in the 5-sided puzzle palace should be shut down, all the staff – all the staff – required to eat in 15 minutes from MREs that have been stuffed in an armory somewhere for 20 years.

      The ossifers should be required to not leave their desks through the week except with special leave granted by a former enlisted when he or she feels like it.

      All the Pentagon staff should be docked the cost of the food they’ve eaten during the entire time those in the field have had to do without. The amount docked should be increased by a factor of 2 for each step up the ranks they have achieved. This should not be open to any kind of forbearance for hardship cases.

      Then all those in the chain of command should be given a ODH discharge, retroactively if necessary, for neglect of duties endangering the readiness of the military and abuse of military property.

    5. Welp, Lil’ Bro, does getting twice as pissed from reading two articles on the same subject in a thread, in less than 2 hours, make me twice the friend? Axin’ for a fren’… I repeat my rant from below’s reply to 5Guy. I also repeat what I axed when this subject was discussed before…Where daphuque are the ossifers and NCOs that should be fixin this issue? I’ve had “food insecurity” a time or 12 in my life, but NEVER while I was serving. Hell one reason why I enlisted those many years ago was for the “3 hots and a cot”…’specially the 3 hots part.

      Grrrrrr!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

      What’s even more pissing me off is Ft Carson Culinary School making sure they provide 2K + meals to the community but not making sure the troops are properly fed! GRRRRRRRRR!!!!!!!!

        GREEN; Haul ass.
        YELLOW: Haul ass through it before it turns red.
        RED: Haul ass through the intersection before opposing traffic starts moving.

        1. Not in Colorado.. yellow, especially a yellow arrow means: slam on your brakes as hard as you can, no matte how much space you have to go, nor how many cars are stacked behind you.

    2. Damn 5Guy, I was in a pretty good mood til I read that sh*t. Inexcusable! Now I know it has been a LOOOOOONG minute (decades) since I served and this issue has been talked about here before, but…DAAAAYYUUUM! Collecting an average of $22 million from the BAS and only spending $5 million on food? And “…not sure how the other money is allocated…” W.T.F! Maybe some of y’all can ‘splain to this old Gun Bunny (a) why this is happening (b) how did this happen (c) what’s being done to fix it (d) when the ones responsible for this fiasco are going to be re-assigned to the gravel making facility in Kansas?

      Again…a long minute since I’ve had Mess Hall…oops, ‘cuse me…Dining Facility Chow (last time was in ’90 when I went to Ft Sill for a nephew’s graduation) and some folks bitch about Army Chow, but for the most part I never really had a bad meal besides the C Rats. Our chow was always hot, well prepared, and you could take all you wanted so long as you ate all you took. Now granted, back yonder, it was mostly Mess Sgts and cook MOS that ran the facilities. And you can bet that Senior Officers and NCOs were subject to drop in at any meal just to make sure their troops were at least well fed. Is that no longer a thing?

      Damnit! The very FIRST (ht2 SgtM) rule of leadership (be it military or civilian) is to look out for the well being of your people. And as a rule, a well fed person is a happy productive person. Is that no longer a thing either?

      If any of you know a junior enlisted that’s affected by this, please ask the admins for my info. I’m close enough, and things might be tight here, but we’ll find enough to share.

JUST A THOUGHT or two: First, I wish a very Happy Thanksgiving to ALL OF The Fine People of TAH®™, and if you REALLY want to save money on Christmas Presents, just open fire on talking politics at the dinner table, AND FOR those really liberal moonbats in your family, (YES, I have one or two), wish them a happy and prosperous TRUMPsgiving, then watch their heads explode while steam blows out their ears!!! 😀🤣😁😂

    The week’s trivia will be dropped during the WOT on Friday, as it always is, so you can have it for dessert with your réchauffé (remember, that means “leftovers”).

    Don’t over-overdo it today. I hate that logy feeling I get when I eat too much.
