Man with guns arrested near Donald Trump rally

A man was caught with guns outside of a Donald Trump rally in Riverside County, California. Vem Miller, 49, drove a black SUV to an outer checkpoint. Sheriff’s deputies quested Miller, who claimed that he had the credentials needed to attend the rally. Miller tried to pass himself off as a Journalist and as a VIP guest. However, when deputies asked for these credentials, Miller wasn’t able to show them. It didn’t help that Miller’s SUV had phony license plates, that his SUV was not registered, and that the inside of the SUV was a mess. To add damage to injury, deputies found fake passports, fake driver’s licenses with different names, guns, and ammunition.

From Los Angeles Times:

According to Bianco, Miller had driven his SUV through an outer perimeter maintained by sheriff’s deputies before he was questioned at a checkpoint closer to the rally entrance. Miller claimed to have credentials to attend the rally both as a journalist and VIP guest, but couldn’t produce any documents.

The deputy questioning Miller noticed what Bianco called “many irregularities” with his SUV: The license plate was phony, the vehicle was unregistered and the interior was “in disarray,” the sheriff said.

A search of the SUV turned up fake passports and driver’s licenses with different names, guns and ammunition, Bianco said.

Bianco said he was identifying the suspect as Miller “with an asterisk” because he possessed identification with multiple names. The suspect stated his name was Vem Miller, according to the sheriff.

The homemade license plate was “indicative of individuals claiming to be sovereign citizens,” Bianco said, referring to an ideology whose followers do not consider government authorities to be legitimate. Bianco called it irrelevant that most sovereign citizens subscribe to far-right beliefs.

“He was a lunatic,” the sheriff said.

Asked whether he was speculating by branding Miller a would-be assassin, Bianco said it was “common sense” to suspect that someone carrying guns and fake identification to a political rally intended to hurt people.

  1. Yeah, turns out the locals might have jumped the gun…

Says he is a Trump supporter. Firearms locked in car. Two passports because he is a dual citizen (canada and US).

He was literally released on bond already.

    1. They had to release him because California cannot hold a person only charged with misdemeanors. His charges were improper storage of a loaded firearm in his trunk and possession of a magazine holding more than ten rounds.

  2. Whole lotta questions about this. I saw one of those “sovereign citizen” plates the other day. Had to google it to figure out what it was. Available on Amazon, go figure.

      1. Just like Beirut bombing “survivor” Daniel Wall’s Area 51 employee credentials.

    1. If you Google “sovereign citizen, youtube” you will find innumerable videos of interactions between those folks and the police. Having no life and way too much time on my hands I have watched (too) many of them, and even researched their beliefs. Australia, New Zealand, and Great Britain also have their share. Their is also a “Moorish Science” version for our Afro-American brethren.

      1. If you really want to get into cloud-cuckoo land try “Quantum Grammar”, invented by some guy named David Miller.

      2. timactual,
Watching COPS and Live PD reruns,
where “sovereign citizens” act like they can break any motor vehicle law, have no requirement to behave, comply, consent, or otherwise recognize law enforcement, policemen, or sheriffs, and almost always ending up in handcuffs, sitting in a squad car back seat, and often on the ground kicking and screaming (including “I can’t breathe”)… is a major hoot.

Because they aren’t “driving”, they are “travelling”.
Enjoy a sample from Texas (“Earth”), pot included.

        1. I’ve often wondered why “sovereign citizens” even bother to pull over…being they claim not to recognize law or law enforcement.

          1. The standard response is that they do it, eventually, “under threat of duress and force”.

      3. Timothy McVeigh was a prime example- bombed the OK federal building and was making his getaway in a car with no license plates because he was sovereign. Stopped and arrested by a state trooper who noticed his lack of a plate and then saw a gun.

  3. Little early for The Stupid People of The Week Thread, isn’t it? Or a late drop? Special kind of dumbass to attempt to enter an area where you KNOW is gonna be crawling with LEOs with fake tags, fake ids, fake stories, AND weapons.

Cue up more gunz grabberz in 5.4.3.2..

    1. Yeah this guy sounds like a doink…he was interviewed, it was not impressive…

He seemed harmless enough just another knucklehead in love with the idea that he’s not beholden to any government other than the one he makes up in his head…

It’s a great concept on some levels, but not truly practical in reality.

    2. Never forget, 50% of the population has below average intelligence. Is it just coincidence that approx. 50% of the population are Democrats? Discuss.

      1. Seems like he swooped in and dropped a few butt nuggets just a couple days ago.. On a President Trump related thread of course..

    1. We need cheap, exploited “migrant” labor for virtue-signaling Democrat cronies to make money, invest your communities! Vote Democrat for more! /sarc

    2. Odie,
(unconfirmed) rumor today, spread on X,
is that Karl Rove is now in Pennsylvania,
in support of the Kamala / PA campaign.
Time will tell, but IMHO another steaming pile of BS.

  4. The sheriff is a lying piece of shit.

The guy is a Trump supporter and precinct captain for the republicans.

He told the deputy he had wo

two firearms when he reached the checkpoint. He asked if he could check them in with the police during the rally. These are guns he keep in his car living in Nevada and he failed to remove them when he drove to the rally.

There is a reason he is not charged with any of the crimes the sheriff alleges. Including the STATE crimes the sheriff alleges and could charge if the sheriff wasn’t a lying f grandstanding corrupt piece of shit.

He is only being charged with the firearms violations.

Because he is not a would be assassin. He is just a MAGA cultist that stupidly believes Trump is worthy of his support.

    2. Major Moonbat, YOU are the cultist and you project it on everyone else! 😁😀😀

    4. Oh, look Mr. Dick cheese butt nugget is back from the grave.

And this week, I was trying to see if there was anything that sucked harder than the fucking Dallas Cowboys and it’s you.

      Congratulations Soy fuck boi

  5. Why shouldn’t social security be partially shielded from taxation? Do away with tax exempt entities, entirely. In a land of equality, let the government take a flat rate on new income, similar to a sales tax but based on revenue, only.

1.5% to maybe as much as 3% of realized cash inflows, from whatever source. The notion of a flat rate tax, uninhibited by Congress and their special dispensations could be a fine way of reeling in their “influence” and gratuitous dispensations of patronage.

Haha, so you see, there really is no such thing as diversity, equity or inclusion, when it comes to “money”.

    1. That would at least partially offset the equivalent inevitable increase in medicare every time there is a social security raise.

    2. Part of Social Security is not taxable as income. I only pay taxes on about 60% of my SS payments. I believe the full amount should be tax free. Many states do not levy income tax on any of one’s Social Security pay.

    1. It appears not. Supposedly, when first questioned by cops he told them his shotgun and pistol were in his parked truck.
