Joe Biden’s Gaza pier is reportedly sinking

An Israeli Defense Force (IDF) soldier posted a video indicating that the Gaza pier is sinking. The bridge appeared to be bobbing up and down, and submerging. The IDF soldier said, “This is what happens when you help the enemy.” The sinking pier adds meaning to the term “sinking costs”.  According to Senator Roger Wicker, costs related to the pier “exploded”, the efforts were dangerous, and the pier offered marginal benefits.

From Newsweek:

Video posted on social media by the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) on Monday showed the American pier “sinking in the water,” The Jewish Press reported, although it is unclear how much of the structure, which was bobbing up and down, was under water. The soldier who shot the video is overheard saying: “This is what happens when you help the enemy,” the outlet said.

Columnist and author Caroline Glick posted on X an image of the pier with the message: “The Biden pier in Gaza is sinking into the sea….($320m sinking along with it…)”

It is unclear whether the images were linked to an incident on Saturday in which four American vessels connected to the floating pier disconnected from the jetty due to stormy seas. U.S. Central Command, CENTCOM, said the vessels had broken free from their moorings, leading them to get stuck on the coast.

One ship was stuck on a beach at the southern end of Ashdod, while another sent to extract it also got beached. The two other vessels were washed up on a beach near the pier, according to CENTCOM, which added the Israeli Navy helped with their recovery and that no one had been injured in the incidents.

But other problems have beset the pier, with Sabrina Singh, deputy Pentagon press secretary, saying last month that bad sea and weather conditions had delayed the delivery of the components for the construction.

Meanwhile, Vice Admiral Brad Cooper, the deputy commander of United States Central Command, told reporters last week that deliveries from the pier to warehouses inside Gaza had been initially hindered by a Hamas drone attack on the IDF and some aid trucks were looted en route, CNN reported.

  1. Just like anything related to Gaza, the Palis, and Xiden….pouring money down the rat hole of LibTard-ism.

  2. This went about as well as I thought it would.

*cue the Curb Your Enthusiasm intro jingle*

      1. Did this Biden Idea undergo a pier review? Inquiring minds want to know.

            1. Won’t do what taxpayers tell me to do, so I’ll keep driving them insane.

              1. The puns keep delivering. I got nothing today but probably later when this thread is 3 days old.

              2. This pier has been subjected to peer review on this site. We’ve found it to lack sufficient ground, to be unable to hold up to reality, to be weak as a whole, and in need of fixing.

            2. Drifting in the morning sun…I’ll be drifting when the evening comes…2 thousand miles I’ve roamed..just to make this beach my home…

              1. Left my home in Gaza, Going to blow myself away, cuz I got nothing to live for, looks like Israel won’t go awaaay

      2. Speaking of stuff up someone’s ass….
Perhaps Pete Buttgerbil should supervise the next one.

  3. Would have been useful to actually see the video. I’m not sure I trust random IDF soldiers as reliable sources. In fact, I don’t trust anyone in the region as a reliable source.

  4. Literature states JLOTS operations are halted over Sea State 3, described as winds up to 16 Kts and wave heights of up to 4 four feet with numerous whitecaps. A great day to be on a sailboat.

In perspective a rescue swimmer can legally deploy in up to SS 5 conditions.

There’s an interesting term in Oceanography called “fetch” which describes an area where wind direction and velocity are essentially constant over large swaths of ocean. This pushes water down wind and increases local wave heights. Spring/summer in the Med prevailing winds are from the Northwest, so fetch length is pretty much the entire Eastern Mediterranean and has Israel’s coast bore sighted.

In other words, I was waiting patiently for this to happen.

    1. My Chessie fully understands the term “fetch” and would be
happy to demonstrate his nautical skills under such conditions.

      1. Not quite the same thing, but I’ll happily spectate his skills especially if there are ducks involved. And current jelly.

  5. Speaking of gas lighting, if you support Trump you are a Zombie and “Presidential election polls right now are all over the place and mostly within the margin of error which means the snapshot of the electorate we are seeing may be a mirage either way”. Gotta love Salon. Communism with a Dolce & Gabbana purse.

    1. Whoever wrote that does not buy their own groceries or fill their car full of gas.

    2. Well, in the last few Democrat elections, they were able to lock in the Zombie Bloc. They seem to identify with Joe Biden. No joke.

    3. Well, the polls have it correct that the people know what is going on…despite all the malarkey that the WH is spewing on false numbers. Unemployment under has been under 4%? Since when? For who?
People feel good about their own finances but know the economy is failing! Yeah, I’ll bet that idiot doesn’t live in California and was hoping for that $20/hr wage increase but instead got a pink slip! Bet they aren’t paying their utility bills, or getting groceries or fuel! They probably drive an EV and plug it in to Daddy’s garage, and are upset when the A/C gets turned up to 70 degrees, or the fridge didn’t get restocked with Perrier!

      1. What I don’t get, is how important that poverty is to the left, which has taken a huge jump up since Biden took office. It’s almost like they said ” we have a bunch of rich donors now f*** the poor”. And then they don’t understand why Biden is losing the polls.

      2. “People feel good about their own finances”

Some people feel good about their finances.

  6. Senator Roger Wicker? Does he sell outdated and overpriced Red Hat Software?

  7. Upon reflection, maybe it wasn’t such a great idea to select All Points Logistics as the prime contractor.

    1. From the river to the sea. They could just dig a big river (trench) around Gaza. Kinda like moat. Put some alligators in and they would have their river to the sea. Problem solved.
