Illinois bill wants to consider it child abuse if parents object to puberty blocker treatment

A bill was introduced in Illinois that seeks to add to the definition of “abused child.” If this bill becomes law, parents who oppose puberty blockers, cross-sex hormones, transgender surgeries, and abortions for their children, will be considered as committing child abuse. The bill also protects doctors from liability if they prescribed one of the above treatments to minors who did not have parental consent. The Illinois Department of Children and Family Services would also be able to take children away from their biological parents if they meet these additional definitions of child abuse.

House Bill 4876, which was introduced in early February, also shields doctors from liability if they prescribe such treatments to minors who do not have parental consent — and empowers the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS) to step in and, if they deem it necessary, remove children from their biological parents based on the new definition of an “abused child.”

According to the legislation, which imbues minors with the same legal status as adults with regard to consenting to medical treatments and procedures related to abortion and gender transition, “consent to the performance of abortion services and gender-affirming services executed by a minor is not voidable because of such minority.”

Additionally, doctors who prescribe and perform such treatments and procedures are directed only to make a reasonable effort to ensure that the minor in question has an understanding of the risks and benefits — and are exempted from any liability, either civil or criminal, for their participation in the minor’s treatment.

  7. Kids are, well, kids. I’ve used the term “kids” to describe people younger than me since I was in my 20s. As a slightly older Soldier, I was used to having younger Team Leaders and Squad Leaders who were roughly my age. A few years might not seem like a lot, but I enlisted with a lot more life experience than many Soldiers do. I’d dropped out of high school, learned a few trades, been to juvie and jail, gotten into one-on-ten fights with minorities in the ‘hood, and had been in a few situations where I might have ended up unalived or doing some prison time. Considering my average SPC/SGT at Fort Campbell had enlisted fresh out of high school, they were “kids” to me.

    Personal stories aside, “kid” denotes someone who lacks experience, exercises poor judgment on occasion, and generally needs an “adult” to help them make permanent or semi-permanent life decisions. Juveniles are very much kids–confused as to what they want to be when they grow up, though nowadays it seems that the challenge isn’t just career choice or education, it’s now, “what” they want to be.

    Adolescents are continually developing. Once they become teenagers, they’re naturally rebellious and also highly experimental. Faced with a barrage of gender confusion by the “adults” they are taught to trust, they will make piss-poor decisions. Those “adults” are, of course, “educators” and “medical professionals”. Mom and Dad know nothing of my gender identity, and they are products of an ignorant time where biology reigned supreme. The folks in Illinois and other locations are getting exactly what they deserve..when you keep voting for the same dipshits you create this situation where the dipshits believe they are your boss, not your representative because if no matter what they do you re-elect them there’s no accountability for their actions however ridiculous.
