Mother shoots intruder, now faces eviction

Aleah Wallace, 25, was at her home with her four daughters when she heard someone trying to enter the home. The sound came from her 8-year-old daughter’s room. Wallace proceeded to investigate, then saw the individual outside trying to break in through the window. She reached out and touched him with some rounds. The person that she shot was Devin Baker, 14, who died at the scene. Wallace subsequently faced eviction due to her subsidized housing’s weapons policy.

From New York Post:

Aleah Wallace, 25, said she was cleaning her living room when she heard someone, identified as 14-year-old Devin Baker, attempting to break into her rental home around 3 a.m. on Dec. 14, according to Fox 4.

“I went, and I stood in the hallway. And I could see him standing at the window, lifting it up. I just shot,” Wallace told the outlet.

It was the second time Wallace’s house was targeted by burglars in less than 24 hours.

The teen allegedly tried to sneak through Wallace’s 8-year-old daughter’s window, according to the outlet.

Baker, who also lived with his family at the apartment complex, died at the scene from multiple gunshot wounds.

The concerned mother shared she had recently purchased a gun to protect her family after she had four attempted burglaries before the shooting.

“I have four daughters. It’s just me and my four daughters that stay there. I just was protecting my daughters,” Wallace said.

The remorseful mother says she’s “devastated that he was 14,” but “I had to think about my babies.”

  1. Devin Baker certainly did make something of himself these short 14 years on Earth. He made a hood Cemetery plot.

  2. I’ve seen that happen a few times. In one case a mom shot an armed intruder dead in the hallway while she hid in a bedroom with her kids. When he got too close, bambambam. Carrying the frightened toddlers over his dead body in the hallway was something I will never forget. Do not threaten the children of an armed mother. Or else.

  3. Devin Baker lived 14 years
Now his parents are crying tears

Trying a break-in he did try
In a hail of bullets he did die

Protecting her daughters, she should be proud
But in this building, it’s not allowed

Out of the house she must go
Hopefully she has someplace to go

  4. Civil “Wrongful death” Suit against the Housing Authority in 5.4.3.2.. Cue up pics of “Little” Devin as a precocious 6 yo “gud boi” who dindu nuffin, Loved His mama…and Jesus too.

      1. The most dangerous job in America, Aspiring Rapper and/or Aflete. Now he is an expiring rapper/aflete.

      1. Apparently neither, the suspect sustained “multiple gun shot wounds”. Hard to hit anything with the ghetto shooting pose, other hitting someone in the ass, lots of those shootings.

  5. “How DARE you defend yourself against those who would rob and hurt you! We prefer you helpless and defenseless while living in the blue DildoCrat “plantation”. We can’t have you being a good example for others, so OUT YOU GO!”.

Other then that, I mark her as a GO at this station, no further range time needed.
As others have already said, I hope she has someplace else to move and live.

    1. Not the lesson you’d think. The thieves now know that their intended victims are likely unarmed.

  6. Romeo breaking into a girl’s bedroom at 3 am to be whacked by Juliet’s mother.

Hey Will can you write a story from this?

  7. There was a recent case in Michigan where the Ottowa County Board of Supervisors voted 9-1 not to enforce any law that restricted the rights of any law abiding citizen protected by the Constitution, and the county would not infringe the Constitutional Rights of any person who was a client of any of the Social Service Programs of that county or the state.
They also will not provide aid or resources to any state or federal agency that county officials judge are infringing or restricting those rights elsewhere.
