US Ambassador to UN Drafts Sternly Worded Letter

US Pushes UN to Back Israel Self-Defense, Demand Iran Stop Arms to Hamas

The United States proposed on Saturday a draft U.N. Security Council resolution that says Israel has a right to defend itself and demands Iran stop exporting arms to “militias and terrorist groups threatening peace and security across the region.”

The draft text, seen by Reuters, calls for the protection of civilians – including those who are trying to get to safety – notes that states must comply with international law when responding to “terrorist attacks,” and urges the “continuous, sufficient and unhindered” delivery of aid to the Gaza Strip.

It was not immediately clear if or when the United States planned to put the draft resolution to a vote. To pass, a resolution needs at least nine votes in favor and no vetoes by Russia, China, the United States, France or Britain.

Newsmax

I am filled with confidence in the Biden Administration’s steely-eyed diplomats’ unparalleled ability to pen a UN Resolution that will have zero chance of passing a Security Council vote. Even if by some strange circumstance it did, it would be summarily ignored by the Mad Mullahs.

It is a tale,
Told by an idiot, full of sound and fury,
Signifying nothing.

      1. There’s a song in there I’m sure. You and Anne Puma have given a good start, we just need to fill it out more. And a catchy guitar riff. And cowbell. We need more cowbell.

  2. What that UN needs to do is declare Gaza a gun and bomb free zone. That will shut them down completely..

    1. Rocks, back in my day a Guy with a DA haircut, motorcycle leather jacket, garrison belt with the buckle worn on the left or right side and engineer boots in NYC were called Rocks. Buckles were worn on the side to prevent scratches on the cars paint when leaning over the hood.

  3. Because calling “for the protection of civilians – including those who are trying to get to safety,” noting “that states must comply with international law when responding to ‘terrorist attacks,’” and urging the “‘continuous, sufficient and unhindered’ delivery of aid to the Gaza Strip.” Really, really, REALLY sounds like we’re supporting Israel.

    1. When you punch somebody in the mouth unprovoked, rules cease to exist. You are now in a street brawl.

      Make rubble. Bounce rubble. Rinse, lather, repeat as necessary.

  4. I saw that the Israelis had stacked up some Hezbollah terrorists. That is the modern day version of Islamic Jihad, who blew up the Marine barracks in Beirut, 40 years ago today.

  5. 40 years ago.

    “On the morning of Sunday, Oct. 23, 1983, a suicide bomber, later found to have links to the militant group Hezbollah, drove an explosives-laden truck onto the compound at Beirut International Airport that housed barracks where hundreds of Marines were sleeping.”

    220 Marines, 18 Sailors and 3 Soldiers were killed.

    Rest In Peace.

    Salute.

    Never Forget.

    “Lance Cpl. Austin B. Schwenk, 19, died in the shooting in a barracks late Wednesday in what service officials described as an “isolated incident between two Marines.” Schwenk was an electro-optical ordnance repairer assigned to Camp Lejeune’s 2nd Battalion, 6th Marines.”

    “Marine records show Schwenk enlisted in the Corps in June 2022 and attended boot camp at the Marines’ Recruit Depot Parris Island in South Carolina before joining his unit at Camp Lejeune. He reached the rank of lance corporal in August and had been awarded the National Defense Service Medal.”

    “As an electro-optical ordnance repairer, Schwenk was responsible for fixing and maintaining night vision devices and small missiles systems.”

    “His records show he was born in North Carolina’s Onslow County, which is home to Camp Lejeune. Schwenk graduated from Riverside High School in Painesville, Ohio, in 2022.”

    “Schwenk told The News-Herald that he chose to enlist in the Marines to follow in the footsteps of his father, who had served in the Corps.”

    “My father was a Marine, and he’s always given me a reason to look up to him,” Schwenk said, according to a May 2022 story in the newspaper.”

    He also said: “I chose the Marines for the simple fact that they will give me the discipline and leadership that I believe I will be able to use later in my life.”

  9. Dear Mullahs;
    With all due respect, we must send you this letter to tell you that your behavior of late has been abysmal.
    Or rather, not up to the generally acceptable behavior of a good neighbor.
    For shame.
    Because of this I’m sorry to say we must forward this sternly worded letter [not from ME personally, you understand, but from the entire UN–except your own Ambassador, of course], just to say that we would be delighted if you could please see your way toward behaving in a slightly more civil manner toward the Semitic people of tiny nation known for the time being as Israel.
    Unfortunately, since this is a STERNLY worded letter, we cannot end it with a “sincerely yours”, or “thank you”, or “with love”….so, we will just sign it;

    The United Nations [minus your own Ambassador]
